Fülemüle Étterem — Restaurant in Budapest

We showed up with a baby stroller and they seated us without any issues, though the ambience is geared more towards quiet and intimate - our squawking child disrupted the mood a bit, sorry! There appeared to be only 1 waiter the night we were there, but the service was excellent - professional, courteous, and helpful. We ordered the complete appetizer/starter combo plate as well as 2 entrees - the goose leg with potato latkes, and the chicken with cimes, both from the Jewish cuisine section of the menu. This was for 2 adults (we didn’t order anything for the baby). The appetizer combo plate was huge for 2 people - the hummus was superb, the goose liver pate with eggs was delicious, and the cottage cheese dish was very good. The goose leg was perfectly cooked, and the latkes too. Wife enjoyed her chicken, but I was too stuffed to try even a nibble. We will definitely come back here and we highly recommend Fulemule. We had not booked a table so at first the waiter said no sorry, but then the old ladyboss came and said ofc! While seeted it seemed like they forgot to give us the menu and after some waiting we had to ask for it. The mixed starters were ok but abit booring and very fat in the taste. The waiter failed to present the different dishes. The main course of smooked hickory brisket was nice but some of the accessories were questionable. While dining it felt like me and my girl were left out of all the nice smiles and small talk with the staff. Staff was stressed and rushy even though it was only half full. In the end we did not feel welcome att all. Maby cuz were turist or that im from the middle east, either way the service was unpleasent and bad. I would not recomend it...

Rudest waiter I have ever encountered. He was cold when we entered,but served us drinks quickly which was nice. Two minutes later he returned and then deliberately huffed and rolled his eyes when we said we needed a couple more minutes to choose our food from the menu. Bear in mind this was only five minutes after we arrived. My wife and I felt so uncomfortable that we decided to leave rather than endure a miserable dinner. The staff are clearly more interested in closing two hours earlier than advertised than running a business. I wonder if the manager is... I would advise potential diners not to waste their time...
