The restaurant has no main courses which do not contain meat. Due to this we ordered some ‘snacks’ and starters suitable for vegetarians. The waiter came out to tell us they didn’t have one of the dishes and we asked for more time to decide on another thing. He came back only seconds later, and we asked for more time. He came back again seconds later. We rushed and picked something (which the waiter had ended up chosing for us, seeing that we weren’t happy with any of the remaining options). After a few minutes he came out to tell us they didn’t have that dish either. I found it very poor that they didn’t have 1/3 of their menu, and to not warn customers beforehand regarding which dishes they do and do not have. Members of staff took 4 smoke breaks (at the same time) in the 40 minutes we were there. At one point (when we needed to ask for the bill) there were no members of staff available. As for the food, we tried a guacamole appetiser with fresh avocado (a rare thing to come by in restaurants), even tough it lacked tomatoes and onions, which would have made it a real guacamole. The chicken paprikaș was to die for, I will definitely make some at home. The goulash was nothing to write home about but maybe I am too accustomed with heartier goulash recipes; this one was too soupy.
We returned the next evening to drink some beers after visiting the...
Read moreWe stopped by for a quick bite but ended up staying for a late lunch. We ordered a cappuccino, Hungarian beer, chicken salad, and Chicken Paprikash with homemade noodles.
Overall, the food was tasty, though there were a few misses. The chicken salad was a disappointment, it lacked dressing and the walnuts listed on the menu were missing. Unfortunately, my husband had a poor experience with it. The Hungarian beer was also underwhelming.
On the other hand, I was very pleased with my meal. The Chicken Paprikash was rich and flavorful, and the homemade noodles were soft and comforting, almost like gnocchi. The cappuccino was smooth and...
