Créée en 1893, cette oeuvre est due au sculpteur hongrois Zala György . Le monument rend hommage aux combattants de la Liberté, il est situé sur la place Disz. C'est en 1848 qu'eurent lieu les combats au chateau de Buda. A la base du socle, une branche de palmier en bronze. Sur le socle, une branche de palmier en bronze avec un ruban portant l'inscription "A NEVTELEN HŐSÖKNEK" (aux héros anonymes) et l'inscription "SZABAD HAZAERT 1849 majus 21" (Patrie libérée le 21 mai 1849).e avec une guirlande. Au sommet du monument un soldat, sabre dans sa main droite et drapeau dans la gauche, la roue d'un chariot et un canon brisé à ses pieds. Sur ce drapeau l'inscription " SZABADSÁG VAGY HALÁL" (Liberté ou mort). Derrière lui, l'allégorie de la Victoire avec la couronne de laurier.

В основании постамента - бронзовая пальмовая ветвь с лентой вокруг нее и надписью "Неизвестным героям". На прямоугольном каменном постаменте, украшенном лавровой ветвью и золотой пятиконечной звездой, которая не сочетается с общим медно-зеленым "цветом" скульптуры, возвышается флаг с надписью "Свобода или смерть". Статуя была изготовлена в 1893 году. Автор скульптуры - скульптор Зала Диард.

It’s a cool statue in a nifty little spot but it would be better with a little placard giving a little more information. There ended up being a lot of statues with not much information about them. Turn a corner and more statues literally there is another three not two hundred yards from here to the south on the cliff edge looking out over the city. One bust from the waist...

This monument was erected in the memory of the freedom fighters of the 1848-1849 Revolution. The sculpture is presenting a "Honved", tiered of fighting , wounded in battle - hence the bandage on his forehead - with sword in his right hand and a flag in his left.
