I don’t really know where to start. Spend 24300 HUF for 2 people and left the place really unhappy. First of all the lady at the entry was really rude. Male waiter was taking care of us was okay but he took my wife’s order wrong and he made us paid for his fault. Basically she asked if they could make her burger vegan and waiter said yes and after her order came we understood her meal wasn’t vegan. When we checked with the same waiter he said it’s not vegan because of the buns and we still had to pay for the burger. He then suggested the salad we had to say yes because it was getting late and salad was low quality and came without any dressing. The home made fries actually wasn’t fries they were frozen re heated home made chips and again they were horrible also toilets were dirty and taps to wash hands were just a joke. Look I’m okay to pay what is the price we are coming from Australia and this 6-7 weeks holiday is costing us more than $30000 but I really hate this kind of tourist traps and horrible restaurants.

After this point I’m editing my review to answer a lie from the the owners answer: we asked if we had to pay for the burger after the mess up and the staff said we had to - which is where we said we could take it to go so I could eat it later since my wife couldn’t eat it. It sounds like your staff didn’t tell...

After a day of exploring the historic Buda Castle, we found the Spíler Biergarten to be a modern and inviting oasis. The service was impressive, swift and efficient, despite the bustling crowd, which was a mix of tourists and some locals. It's true that the prices seemed a bit inflated, but this is expected for a tourist area with few dining options. The people-watching opportunity added a pleasant touch to the experience.

We indulged in what the Biergarten had to offer; we started with a couple of refreshing beers, beautifully presented with a satisfying frothy head, a sure sign of a well-poured drink. To satisfy our hunger, we opted for a classic sausage, served with bread, a tangy pickle, and a smooth, flavorful mustard that complemented the dish well. We also savored a crispy schnitzel, accompanied by a wedge of lemon to add a zesty kick, and a side of golden fries — a hearty meal that really hit the spot.

The checkered tablecloth added a traditional touch to the setting, enhancing the authenticity of our beer garden experience. While it may be a spot that attracts a tourist crowd, the quality of food and the lively ambiance make it a worthwhile stop for anyone...

It was supposed to be a beautiful day in Budapest until I stepped into this restaurant. There were two problems with this place.

The food. I ordered a chicken burger, and it was incredibly dry and bland. There was so little sauce that I had to flip the burger over to make sure the chef had left some. I ended up spending nearly 6,000 on a shrunken burger.

The service. I asked the waiter for the bill, and then waited for half an hour. The waiter kept passing by, and I reminded him twice. Then, half an hour passed before the waiter finally arrived. And for such service, they even charged me a 15% service charge. My entire trip was delayed. It's ironic that they made me wait for half an hour just to pay this arrogant place. It made me feel so disrespected. By the way, I’m sure that the waiter got the message and just let us waiting. He even asked me “cash or card” and just keep neglecting our request.

Of course, this place has its merits. The band's performance created a great atmosphere, which gave me the motivation to go in. But if I had the chance, I wouldn't step into this...

This is a real review- it looks like there are a lot of fake ones for this place. It’s basically an overpriced bar with overpriced bar food. We went here because it looked like it had good reviews. Upon further inspection, it looks like a lot of the reviews may be fake. The food was mediocre. The chips were either hard or soggy. The chicken and pretzel were good. I wish we had only gotten those two things instead of the sampler- which was around $37 USD- a total tourist trap rip off price. The pickles were too sweet. The mustard sauces were fine. The sausage was standard and the fried cheese was basically a giant mozzarella stick but with emmental cheese. The atmosphere is cute and probably really great in the spring and summer. Service is exactly what you would expect in Europe (versus the US where I am from). We went here because we were really hungry and it was close to our hotel. I wish we went elsewhere.

I found this place to be a bit overrated. The food was just okay, nothing particularly special or memorable. I tried the hamburger, which unfortunately wasn’t very tasty — and considering the high price, it really didn’t meet expectations. The Caesar salad was also a letdown in terms of presentation. Large chunks of chicken breast were simply placed on top of the lettuce with no attention to plating, making it feel rushed and far from elegant. However, I do want to highlight the staff, who were genuinely friendly and professional. They spoke the language very well, checked in with us, and made sure we were okay throughout the meal. That part of the experience was excellent. Overall, I would say it’s an overhyped restaurant — great service, but the food and presentation need improvement, especially for the price point.
