Me and my partner stayed here for 3 nights. We were met by a man who didn’t introduce himself, he shown us into the building and to our room and explained almost everything we needed to know. The room was nice, nice furniture, comfortable bed and modern bathroom. The curtains were not big enough for the windows so in the morning light would shine through quite a bit which wasn’t handy. There was a lot in the apartment e.g TV, hairdryer, extra bedding, two sofa beds etc. The location is super good too, plenty of restaurants and close to the main shopping area!
One thing I will say is that the building is absolutely terrifying! It’s a super old smelly building and at night it is awful, the lights are on sensors so unless people are about, the stair wells are dark. The lift is ancient and feels like it’s about to break down at any moment; also scary going up/down the lift when the lights are off, feels like a horror movie and made me and my boyfriend super uneasy. There’s a separate door for the Budapest holiday harmony stayers and we felt a relief when we got through that door lol. We weren’t told a check out time but I had read it was 11am, which is standard time for hotels, so was surprised when at 9:55 someone was hammering on our door. We opened the door and it was a cleaner telling us we needed to get out, we explained we weren’t told a check out time but online it said 11am, she then dialled a number and handed us the phone, and gave us 15 minutes to get ready and get out, which we weren’t happy with. Depending where you’re situated in the building, the noise from outside can be super loud, sirens and trucks all night! Just a warning.
Overall this place is nice to stay if you’re not a massive scaredy cat like me, but I feel like any normal person would be weary of the building as...
Read moreThe location was fairly central, it had easy access to the Elizabeth Bridge and the Buda side of Budapest. There was a supermarket over the road and a few nice cafes across the road too. To find cheaper and better restaurants it was about a 10 minute walk in the direction of the Jewish Quarter or Basilica. The room was very lovely. It was modern, it had air con, beautiful furniture. A tad on the cramped side, but still very nicely done. The apartments always smelled beautifully clean and fresh. There was good soundproofing for the noisy main road. The exterior of the building did look very inviting and there was an old lift, but it worked fine. It was just a little dark sometimes and hard to see the way to the lift. However, the apartment complex was gated and the apartment had another door before the room entrance so this made it feel safer. Ella was very lovely and helpful although she seemed extremely busy and a little overstretched. It seems like there needs to be more staff to greet guests when there are several arrivals at once. Overall had a great stay in Budapest and this apartment was a nice...
Read moreThe appartment had a good size, nice bathroom, good kitchen, good bed, and ok drawers. The view is of the inside part of the building and the city is not visible. The entry is a little bit dodgy, you enter like you would an actual apartment, with an intercom and an old elevator. The decour was nice, but it left marks on the walls. TV was in Hungarian obviously, but most of the channels were blocked. The kitchen has pans, an electric kettle, an electric stove, cups, glasses, utensils, cutlery and a microwave. The bathroom has a hair dryer. The metro and bus stations are really close. Shops and restaurants are everywhere as the hotel is basically in the center of the city. The Danube is 150m away. I couldn’t hear any real noise, so the sleep was good. For the price I would have hoped for better, but overall it was...
