Firstly, a hats off to the waiter who was excellent in making us feel comfortable and is the reason we stayed and didn’t do a walk out. The two stars goes to him and him only.
The food here wasn’t bad, fairly average pizza and a caprese salad to start. The starter came as expected 10 minutes after ordering. For two pizzas we had to endure over an hour wait. What we wanted to be a quick meal ended up being 2.5 hours (8:30-11).
The frustration was exacerbated in having line of sight of the kitchen, where it was apparent that there was a complete lack of speed or urgency. Secondly there were pasta dishes being sent out to tables seated an hour after we were. I then looked outside to see what I presume is the manager slouched on his motorbike and on his phone. Also lacking any understanding of the snails pace of the kitchen or frustration felt by customers. It seems like he was very quick to pack the restaurant but not so quick to help when the pace needed to be picked up.
We received two Aperol spritz’s and a dessert on the house which was greatly appreciated and brings my rating from 1 to 2 stars. However, I still feel the lack of apology/awareness from the manager, lack of speed from the kitchen ruined our experience of...
Read moreMy friend and I were traveling Budapest and wanted a little comfort after a long tattoo session. We thought pizza was the perfect choice and ended up here. Sadly, we were mistaken. The pizza was inedible, soggy, and had puddles of grease on it. We weren’t sure if the sogginess was due to undercooked dough or the amount of grease but didn’t even take a bite to find out. We both got a basic margarita pizza so it wasn’t the toppings as the problem as other reviews suggested. Our server on the other hand was very kind and apologetic (he didn’t cook the pizza so I think everyone involved was grateful that we all handled it with grace). I typically don’t send food back but it had to be done here. After looking around a bit most people in the restaurant had salads or pasta, perhaps they’re better at that.
Editing the review in response to the restaurant: all of the pizza on the floor looked like this. My friend and I would not have ordered another one after seeing these practices. We kindly declined the...
Read moreBad food and poor service.
The food and service were not at all up to the standard one would expect from a restaurant with a 4.6 rating.
We ate at Il Mulino today. There were two of us, and we had some wine, which was very good. We both ordered the Tagliatelle Manzo Porcini; which was supposed to be tagliatelle with beef tenderloin, porcini mushrooms, garlic, olive oil, parsley, butter, Parmesan, and white wine.
When we received the dish, the pasta was undercooked and clearly not fresh, though the tenderloin was cooked properly. We brought this to the waiter’s attention, and after consulting with someone else, he offered to prepare a new dish for us. The replacement dish arrived shortly after—this time, the pasta was fully cooked with to heavy sauce, but the tenderloin was dry and overcooked.
We left most of the food on the plate and expressed our dissatisfaction. We were offered a shot of Marchello, which we declined, and a 10% discount—without anyone inquiring what our...
