"Indigo Express - Indian Street Food" is an outstanding Indian restaurant located in Budapest. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted warmly by the owner and the waiter, who made me feel right at home. The friendly and attentive service added to the overall enjoyable dining experience.
The taste of the food at Indigo Express was absolutely fantastic. Each dish was bursting with authentic flavors that transported me back to the streets of India. I found myself savoring every bite and already planning my next visit. The quality of the ingredients and the skillful preparation truly made a difference.
While I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Indigo Express, I must mention that the self-service and pay-in-advance concept didn't resonate well with my Indian mindset. In Indian dining culture, we often order based on our cravings and preferences, and being unable to make changes or order additional items during the meal felt a bit restrictive. It would have been more convenient to have the option to visit the counter again if needed.
The ambiance of the restaurant was commendable. The cozy and vibrant atmosphere added to the overall charm of the place. It was a pleasure to dine in such a well-decorated and inviting setting.
However, if you are a vegetarian Jain food enthusiast, you might not find the menu options to be fully satisfying. While the restaurant offers a range of delicious dishes, it may be worth considering expanding their vegetarian and Jain food selections to cater to a wider audience.
Overall, I had a great experience at Indigo Express - Indian Street Food. The warm hospitality, delicious flavors, and pleasant ambiance make it a wonderful choice for anyone looking to indulge in authentic Indian cuisine. I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant and I am already looking forward to...
Read moreI recently ate at Indigo Express and, honestly, I was expecting a lot more. The whole experience left me feeling pretty disappointed.
I ordered a thali first, hoping to taste some authentic paneer curry. But it just didn't taste right. It was so colorful that I could tell they'd used a lot of food coloring, and there were so many onions I could hardly taste the paneer. The paratha that came with it was a whole other story. They just taken a frozen one out of a packet and heated it on the grill. It definitely wasn't the fresh, homemade bread I was hoping for.
Then, we ordered the pav bhaji, and boy, that was something else. The bread been grilled and the bhaji, well, it didn't taste like any bhaji I'd ever eaten. they had just warmed up something pre-made and served it to us with a few onions thrown on top. It just wasn't the mouthwatering pav bhaji I was craving.
Even the samosas weren't any better. They are also straight out of a freezer. After being quickly fried, they were served to us, but parts of them were still raw on the inside. They definitely didn't have that fresh, crispy taste you expect from a good samosa.
Finally, we ordered a dessert called "Taste of India", hoping it would be a sweet end to our meal. The pudding was just not good at all. It tasted nothing like the authentic Indian sweets I was hoping for.
What really disappointed me about Indigo Express was that all of the food is pre-made. they just took everything out of a freezer and heated it up. I was really hoping for a meal that was made fresh, with authentic ingredients and traditional recipes. But that just wasn't what I got. So, if you're like me and you're looking for a real, fresh, and delicious taste of Indian cuisine, you might want to look elsewhere.
Again street food doesn't mean you will just heat up pre made...
Read moreDear Owner,
We are regular costumers, there are weeks when due to the lot of work we have, we come to your places every day. To Nyugati, Kopaszi gát and the past month to Deák.
Today we ordered chicken, and without doubt it had gone bad.
One of us had to spit out the bite, and I went to get water for her, that’s when I informed your workers about the problem.
That’s one thing to serve chicken that is absolutely rotten. But what is even more surprising is how your workers reacted. The woman was saying it’s impossible and I’m totally wrong to say that and how dare I mention this when she sells a lot. Her tone and way of talking was unacceptable. I know you sell a lot because I was one of the people who you sold it to for a very long time and I recommended your places to a lot of people.
I bought the water, went back upstairs and none of your workers came to check if everyone is alright, if they could assist anyhow, or offered a money return. They simply did not care at all, even though we spend a lot of money here with coming so often.
As an owner it’s your responsibility to keep the food fresh, but honestly I would forgive this one time out of the hundreds, because most of the time your food is really great. But to hire people who are acting this way is unfortunately, your biggest mistake and I find it hard to look away from it.
I would appreciate if you would consider finding a waitress, who is a better person and a better employee and of course, checking on fresh meat, not to mix it with...
