We were charged the double price for a non alcoholic mojito (3200 HUF instead of 1600 HUF) and the waitress added a service fee on our meals of 10 percent even though it was not written on the menu. When I asked what’s it all about, she explained others charge even more and added „Welcome to Hungary“, what I consider as a little rude. I always give a tip of 10 percent on a voluntarily basis but when it is a thing here with this static fee, of course I’m able to accept it. Strange though, that other bars and restaurants I have visited during my stay in Hungary never charged it by themselves, so is this only a thing when clueless tourists arrive? Before I spoke about it with the waitress the service on the table was good, except plates were already taken from the table during our lunch. Maybe the two waitresses had not so much to do because there was only another group of guests next to us.
I noticed the wrong price of the beverage after I had paid and got the amount back in cash but not all of the added service fee on the wrong calculated price so still payed a little bit on top there.
Nevertheless the food was alright but definitely too much balsamico vinegar on top of the salad and the grilled vegs were mainly mixed pickles from the jar. Also I wouldn’t consider the falafel or the hummus as self made, what made me a little sad because it really isn’t a thing to make. The meal size in Libanese restaurants in Germany is definitely larger, especially at those prices that are over the top even for Budapest castle area.
The ambiente is quite nice and oriental. Music is played louder, sometimes quieter but songs are repeated two or three times in a row. Smoking hookah is permitted inside the guest room, what I am not sure about how legit this is today next to dining guests. In Germany you can’t smoke in guest rooms where food is served. The cutlery was bent, what could have been checked more frequently.
I came here because of the advertisement on the happy cow app, where larger portions were shown on older pictures posted by others. I will correct that Information there as well. See my attached bill and think about if it was...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant at the 31th of December. The restaurant was really beautiful, the decorations are really nice but that’s all.
The waiter gave us a table that was moving. It wasn’t stable at all. We saw that an other table was going to be free so we asked if we could go there because the table was moving. The waiter said : oh yeah I know ! If he knew why didn’t he fix it ?
Then we ordered Mezza Selection for the entry. Its lots of specialities on a big plate with Lebanese breads.
And we ordered also the main course and a Strawberry mojitos without alcohol
First we got the strawberry mojitos but it wasn’t even a mojito, it was a sirup. That s it. 2200 forint per mojito for a sirup that wasn’t even good…
Then the waiter brought us the main course and the entry at the same time. We were a bit surprised and the waiter told us that there are too many people and that there is a big mess in the kitchen. We were maximum 20 people in the restaurant and a lot left already..
About the food … it was more like a fast food. The hummus didn’t have any taste, only oil … the eggplant cream didn’t have any taste either. We know pretty well Lebanese food and that was a poor copy of it. The Lebanese bread was like paper… terrible. Really .
I got a Lebanese hamburger but really nothing special. And my boyfriend shish taouk with fries.
When we got the fries there were already cold. The food was cold. Some pieces of his chicken wasn’t cooked , he has to take them out of his mouth… Nothing was fresh, it was probably already cooked hours before and it was just heated again. It was a big deception for New years eve…
And we paid 22’000 forint for everything (with the shisha too). Its not a lot but its to many for fast food and food that isn’t even cooked and cold…
First...

I went there for dinner and had a reservation, we got the table and were seated. Afterwards the staff didn’t came to us for a long time. Our orders were taken and when the food arrived the drinks were still not there. After several tries we finally got a waiter coming to our table and asked for the drinks again. We got them finally and they were because of this long delay complimentary. By the way, the mojito was awful. The lentil soup we got was more water than lentil soup, the mezze platter was acceptable. The chicken dish was also acceptable, we also ordered a lamb kebab dish. The lamb dish was the most expensive dish on the menu for 5500 HUF (October ’22) and had a outrageously small quantity of meat. I told it to the waiter and no response came, i tried to call them again for 15min and finally they said that its a normal portion according to the kitchen. We argued and they offered a 50% discount on this meal, i denied and sent it back. The waitress came back with a complimentary dessert as compensation, she also told us that she cant do anything because the kitchen is not seeing my side. However she could understand my position totally. I saw tonight that they were understaffed and the kitchen is very bad. So far I have never sent back food because of QUANTITY, this was embarrassing for me. I barely give 1 star ratings, this restaurant deserves it unfortunately. Avoid this place, rather go to Mozata, Baalbek or Byblos, these are very good places with exceptional service.
UPDATE: I have also read comments of others and I agree to that point that this restaurant was smelling like a...
