We visited this restaurant today. While we received everything we ordered, the overall experience left us feeling a bit uneasy. The waiter who served us behaved rather strangely. Although we initially placed our order with a kind colleague of his who didn’t speak English, the waiter still came by twice afterwards to ask for our order again. Both times, we told him it had already been taken. He then gestured in a way that suggested too much drinking was to blame—and that’s when it clicked: he was drunk.

On top of that, he seemed to seat guests based purely on personal preference. If he didn’t like the look of someone, he told them there were no tables without a reservation. Moments later, someone else came in and was seated immediately, no reservation needed. We also had to ask twice for the bill. In between, he slammed the cash drawer repeatedly, making a loud noise throughout the restaurant, until his colleague had to call him out on it. To top it off, he loudly shouted the amount of my tip across the restaurant to his colleague—possibly making fun of it.

To be fair, the food was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable with no service charge automatically added. We did get everything we wanted, but being served by someone clearly intoxicated made the experience uncomfortable. That’s why I left very little in tips—and even that was meant more for his colleague...

I recently dined at Pasta Bazár Trattoria, an Italian restaurant that presented a bittersweet experience. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the food itself, which was well-prepared and flavorful. However, the overall dining experience was marred by significant service issues.

The most notable issue was the delay in service. My friend experienced a considerable wait due to the kitchen overlooking his order, resulting in him having to eat alone after my meal was finished. This not only disrupted the rhythm of our dining experience but also diminished our enjoyment of the meal.

Furthermore, the response from the management was underwhelming. When we brought this issue to their attention, the compensation offered – a mere reduction of 100 HUF from the bill – felt quite inadequate and somewhat dismissive of the inconvenience caused. This equates to just 21 pence in GBP, which didn't seem to appropriately acknowledge the mishap.

While the quality of the food at Pasta Bazár Trattoria was commendable, the overall experience was let down by the slow service and the lackluster customer service from the management. It's important for a restaurant to not only serve good food but also to ensure a pleasant and smooth dining experience for...

After five days in Budapest we decided one evening to switch from traditional Hungarian cuisine to an alternative. The main reason of choosing this restaurant was its location close to the hotel and rather good rewiews. But we were fully disappointed:

The waiter was drunk. I’m serious. At the very beginning it seemed funny but then he started to forgot the dishes from our order. We have to repeat each dish two-three times The food was so, so. Definitely not Italy. At the end of the evening we asked for a bill and it was ridiculous that we got it on the sheet of paper written with a pencil and there was only figures no dishes. The total sum seemed too high for me and I decided to double check it position by position based on menu. Finally occurred a difference about 10.000 HUF :) That’s very ugly and...

Cute little restaurant- with a great ambience. The caprese salad was basic but very tasty. I should have asked for Balsamic in hindsight. The Arribiata pasta - the penne was perfectly cooked. The sauce was surprisingly spicy and I absolutely loved it . Thus far best Arribiata I've tasted in BP. The pizza - Oh my word. The base was super thin , with the crust being one of the finest. I really enjoyed the pizza. Both dishes remained hot for the duration of the meal - which was so enjoyable! I needed some extra spice on the pizza, and despite the language barrier , the waiter brought me really spicy sauce which came with a warning. This was extremely spicy and I was so appreciative of being offered this sauce.

Excuse me, but I didn’t like this place. I LOVED IT!!! It’s been 2 years now since my first time here. honestly, I’ve been around the world and tried lasagna almost everywhere. And I won’t lie if I’d say that this is THE BEST LASAGNA I’ve ever tried in my entire life. They don’t make it like this even in Italy. So this place is an absolute must visit if you’re in Budapest. Service is also super nice. Also, try tiramisu. It’s amazzzing I’m gonna miss this place sooo much. Hopefully they’ll never close and I’ll be able to come here whenever I visit 🥹

Cute little gem of a place, hidden on a street near Nyugati railway station. You are greeted with an old-school Italian atmosphere, dim lights, stone walls with paintings on them and small tables. The pasta is delicious and well worth the price, the beer is good too (coming from a Czech person, I know a good beer :)). The panna cotta had a weird sweet aftertaste, but that was just our preference. Definitely recommending visiting this place for an authentic Italian cuisine and atmosphere.
