What a terrific find! We had been wandering around Buda Palace and were both tired and famished. At a corner we saw two restaurants: on the right a branch of Jamie Oliver's Italian thingy (completely packed) and on the left a nice looking place but totally deserted. We checked out the menu and it looked perfectly O.K. but naturally an empty place at 1 in the afternoon arouses suspicions. We decided to boldly go where no one .... The more I studied the menu, the more my appetite grew. And what delights did we find! By the time we left, the terrace was packed and even the inside had begun to fill up.
Try their homemade drinks and if you like (I like, I like) duck, be sure to sample the Kacsamaj. And learn the lesson: the crowd is a blind beast at the best of times.
(While we were waiting, we checked the reviews. This restaurant had just one negative. Apparently three dishes were insufficient to sate the reviewer's appetite so he/she went across the way and had some of Jamie's pasta to fill him/her up! Hahahaha. Speaking personally, I had two of the starters and that was...
Read moreVery tasty meals, nice choice of tableware. We had a table outside but the inside looked comfy as well. Waiters were very nice.
One thing to improve: we came around 12 and there were some free spaces to seat but aroun 13:00 it was fully occupied and you probably get to wait 15 min to get a table. It is a very nice place worth of waiting but what was weird is that the hostess did not promise to keep a place for you in case there would be a table free. They said to people: " no, you should wait here". It would be better if people could get around a block for 10 min and then come back for a newly freed table. Instead they are forced to stay right there looking at people eating. Maybe it is Budapest's thing, I don't know. It would much kinder to people if you could say:"Yes, If you would like to we can reserve next free table that would be available" and then people can have a 10-15 walk in nice surrounding instead of waiting outside.
Food is good, service is nice, as said above if you come in very popular hour like 13:00, be prepared to a fully...
Read moreThis restaurant is absolutely amazing. I was born in Budapest and I work in tourism organizing exclusive group trips and also work as a personal luxury concierge. This restaurant has never failed me even though I have a very demanding clientele. The quality and the presentation of the plates remind me of a Michelin starred restaurant. The range of wine and champagne selection is extensive offering a unique selection of bottles. The service and the atmosphere is excellent. The management is great to work with, as I had a few specific requests from my groups which they have precisely fulfilled. All of my clients left with an amazing experience from Ramazuri Bistronomy. Not to mention that it is in the historical district of Budapest right next to the Matthias Church and the Fisherman’s bastion. The best quality/price ratio I have seen so far in my hometown. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough....
