Aktu-Taktu — Restaurant in Reykjavik

Aktu Taktu borgarl-So this place is very interesting because it is a popular fast-food restaurant in Reykjavik, and because it looks exactly like McDonalds-and I also heard it may be an old Mickey D’s that was converted. Overall, it was a decent place to grab a burger, fries, and a coke. The burger wasn’t what I expected as most of the fast-food burger joints in Europe taste much different than those in US, but to my surprise this one tasted very similar to home. Not a giant beef patty but it was grilled and the bun was soft and warm, the fries were very similar to McDonalds fries and that’s a huge compliment, they are skinny but not thin so they are the perfect size, they were hot and that was a plus, also they were very salty which I like so overall the burger fries combo worked out great for me and I would recommend if your in the capital of Iceland that you should definitely stop and try it. Me and my boyfriend got some burgers and shakes from them a few days ago, I asked for them to fry the onion on my burger and add BBQ sauce, they did neither and instead gave us a bag of onion rings (which we were charged for without realising), the shakes were also completely liquid even though we drank them as soon as we got them. Then when we got home and started eating our burgers we noticed the fries were missing from one of the offers and to top it all off one of the burgers was completely dry and the bread was so hard it was completely inedible, while the other burger was good, halfway through it we found a DARK HAIR in the middle of it when we are both blonde. Absolutely disgusting.

Absolutely shocking service. The reviews are 100% true. Walked in to no one on the place. Young blonde girl behind the counter just stood looking around. I asked her for a double burger meal. She said cheeseburger? I replied, no cheese. Just normal double burger. Paid for order ans sat down. Waited 15 minutes, and baring in mind, there was no one else in at all. I think it was the chef who bought the order out, saying "cheeseburger?" Nope, I asked for double hamburger. He took the whole tray away ans came back 5 mins later . Only to open a single burger. I took the whole tray back to the blonde girl at the counter who didn't say anything. Just took my tray and didn't come back! Stood at the counter for ages, could see her a chef talking . Didn't apologise or tell me to sit down. Nothing. Finally the correct order was brought but with the cold chips I returned...
