Food is absolutely amazing. Tried several different dishes from lamb, to seafood, to deserts and everything was spot on. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I wanted to try chips with my lamb, and instead they served it with a baked potato. I pointed this out as soon as the plate touched the table. The waitress apologized and said she'd fix it, but 30 seconds later the original waiter came over to tell me that I was wrong and I hadn't actually ordered chips. Forget for a moment that it's not possible to accidentally ask for a baked potato instead of saying chips. Forget the fact that they are already taking care of it and will replace one for the other. Why do I need to get into an argument with the staff (or maybe even the owner?) about my original order. We ended up in a short discussion about whether I said chips (which i did) or something else. My wife heard me say chips as well. He did not agree. This put a slight dampener on our meal, but the food was still absolutely excellent, so I'd recommend it. Just make sure you're very clear about what you're ordering so there's no confusion. Also, if you're having dinner at 7pm or later, reservations are a good idea, as one of the evenings we could not get a seat in the place and had to...
Read moreAfter many disappointing meals eating out in Reykjavík, we stumbled upon Harry’s. This was by far the best restaurant that we encountered during our time in iceland.
The atmosphere was vibrant, cosy and well lit. The service was brilliant, and the waitress attending to us was lovely and went above and beyond to ensure we were happy and had everything we needed.
The food was exceptional, great taste and quality and also very reasonable compared to many other restaurants located in Reykjavík. I ordered the lamb shank, and it was the best lamb I tried during the holiday. The battered prawns were a good-sized portion and tasted great alongside the sweet chilli dip. My partner also enjoyed her pasta dish very much.
We attended the restaurant on the last night of the holiday and had I known how much of an enjoyment it was then I would have attended here more than once for a meal. The meal left us with great memories and a meal we will never forget.
Thank you to Harry’s and all the staff for making our experience so great. I highly recommend trying here during your stay in Reykjavík and highly recommend...
Read moreWe ordered from the set menu and were really impressed with the quality and value. It included a drink and 3 courses. We had a glass of white wine and a beer and 3 courses each, and the total came to 17,500 ISK/about £105 for the 2 of us, which was cheaper than most places we looked at, but the food was still of a very high standard.
The lobster soup had amazing flavour! It was rich and comforting. The lamb fillet was perfectly cooked, melt-in-your-mouth tender! The grilled haddock was fresh, flaky, and full of flavour.
Dessert was a so yummy too. A homemade cheesecake with a blueberry compote! It was absolutely delicious. Every dish was beautifully presented and so tasty.
Great food, great service, great value, and a thoroughly enjoyable...
