Overhyped is an understatement!!

We had been planning to visit Bastian for a while now but the nuance of making a reservation and paying upfront to get your feet into the restaurant always deterred us for the last 6 months.

Unfortunately last week the day arrived and we made this move to visit for dinner Sunday evening.

We were greeted week at the entrance and taken to the restaurant which for sure has a good vibe and since it was the early part of the evening we were also given a choice of a few tables to select from. Felt great but little did we know that this would be the best part of the experience !!

We ordered a few drinks for ourselves along with a couple or starters and myst confess the food service was super fast but nothing to write about. Perhaps high time they focus on making good food than getting the food on the table at lightening speed.

Forgetting the name of the cocktail it looked as good as presentation of the food dishes but lacked character. It costed 1600 bucks which isnt an issue but not for a glass full of crushed ice only for aesthetics of the drink. Trust me when i say it if i was to remove the ice it would barely be 75/90 ml of liquid which makes me think if i paid to sip a good cocktail or just adore it visually. Lacked any spirit whatsoever and could pass by just adding a few drops of vodka to say the least. It took me 4 gentlemen sips to finish it!!( off which the 4th sip was hunting for any sort of liquid to quench my thirst)

Then i decided to order a gin & tonic so asked for the menu and ordered Hapusa and the server after a few mins came back and told me that its not available to which i asked them to give me a Tanquery which too wasnt available. When i asked them to show me the menu again they did and told me all the gins which were available were the ones which costed much higher than the ones i asked for and none of the gins costing 700 bucks(for 30 ml ) were unavailable. I was told by the server that last evening they had a pvt party hence the brands i requested were not available as they were in high demand to which i thought its very much possible and it being the weekend they might have also not gotten their supplies. Later the supervisor came to our table to check on how our meal was and when i told him that they didn’t have the gin brands i requested he said that they haven’t been available with them for a while as where houses dont have stock !! Surprise surprise who should i be believing now the server or the supervisor as both had distinctly different versions to the truth !! Let your logic take a decision as why the reasonable gins weren’t available.

Not to forget a cracked tea-light glass candle holder which is the centrepiece of the table for a restaurant which billed us over 3k per person added to the experience.

Make your own judgement to visit Bastian. If at all you go expect a great ambiance but keep your expectations as low as possible when it comes to...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bastian Garden City, and I must say, it exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment my friend and I walked in as walk-ins (I had called to make a reservation but all tables were booked, I was advised to come only after 9pm would walk-ins be allowed), we were captivated by the sheer beauty of the architecture that surrounded us. This restaurant is not just a place to enjoy a meal; it is an experience in and of itself.

The ambiance of the restaurant is truly a design marvel. The attention to detail in the architecture is impeccable, creating a unique and inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements the dining experience. From the stylish decor to the thoughtful layout, every aspect of the design has been carefully considered to create a visually stunning space.

In addition to the impressive architecture, the restaurant also boasts an excellent selection of food and drinks. The menu offers a diverse range of options to cater to every palate, and each of the dishes we had came expertly prepared and beautifully presented.

What truly sets this restaurant apart, however, is the exceptional service provided by the staff. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and attentive service that made us feel right at home. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect.

To top it all off, the restaurant also features great music that adds to the overall ambiance and makes for a truly memorable dining experience. Whether you're looking for a romantic evening out or a fun place to start your night off with some friends (or as I saw a family with a toddler, the staff were very attentive and give got a baby high chair so all can sit and enjoy the food), Bastian Garden City, is the perfect place to be.

In conclusion, I cannot recommend Bastian Garden City highly enough. If you're looking for a restaurant that offers not only exceptional food and drinks but also a unique and unforgettable dining experience, look no further. Make sure to add this culinary and architectural masterpiece to your list of must-visit restaurants – you won't be...

A Tropical Culinary Oasis in Bangalore

I recently visited Bastian Garden City for a Tuesday lunch, and even on a weekday, the restaurant was buzzing with energy.

The ambiance felt very tropical, relaxed, and modern, adorned with African tribal art, bamboo-mesh chandeliers, and undulating vertical ceiling fans. The decor, inspired by global travels, transports you to a beach getaway right in the heart of Bangalore.

Food: Baked Brie - Delightfully creamy and a perfect starter. Lobster Thermidor - Absolutely exquisite, cooked to perfection. Crab Roll - Fresh and flavorful, a seafood lover's dream. Hot Rock Tenderloin - A standout dish, perfectly tender and flavorful. Lamb Slider - Juicy and well-seasoned, a must-try. Salmon Sushi - Fresh and well-prepared, though not the highlight compared to the other dishes.

Desserts: Dark Chocolate Soufflé - Rich and decadent, highly recommended. Chocolate Krak Cake - A chocolate lover's paradise, not to be missed. Turtle Cheesecake - Delicious but overshadowed by the other desserts.

Drinks: Vietnamese Coconut Coffee - Refreshing and unique. Rose Matcha Latte - Smooth and aromatic, a perfect blend.

I loved all the drinks I had, with the Vietnamese coconut coffee and rose matcha latte standing out for their unique flavors and refreshing qualities.

Among the food items, the hot rock tenderloin, lobster Thermidor, and lamb slider were my top picks, each offering a delightful burst of flavors and perfectly executed dishes.

For dessert, I highly recommend the dark chocolate soufflé and the chocolate Krak cake. Don't miss the pull-me-up cake for an interactive dessert experience!

Overall, Bastian Garden City offers an outstanding dining experience with a lush, tropical ambiance and a menu that delights with every bite. I can't wait to return and try more dishes!

Rating: Ambiance: 10/10 Food: 9/10 Drinks: 9/10 Service: 10/10

To start with based on existing reviews, I had been really skeptical about my visit. But it was really good. We went for a family lunch on Saturday. Thank you for the staff especially, Tirupathi to make our experience pleasant. Ambience - The very first thing I would say is ambience. It is excellent, the seating, the decor and vibe the really cozy. I did not feel the music to be too loud as mentioned in reviews but as I mentioned it could be different for evening hours as we went in afternoon. You have an outdoor seating with lot of greenery around if you opt that. Service - Our experience w.r.t. service was great. Being saturday afternoon and Bengaluru traffic, we were late for our reservation, but the staff was courteous enough to make us as comfortable as possible. We were walked to our table as soon as we arrived without delay. The order was taken in timely fashion and served without delay. Menu Options - They have decent spread of food options. separate menu for drinks and desserts as well. Taste - Everything we tried was up to the mark - tasty and fresh. Cost - The menu is definitely on the costlier side, especially drinks and desserts. Quantity - The portions were good enough for one person. Reachability - As many other places, this is situated is the city center, so no parking directly, but they have a valet service. You will find the people out there right on road, to help you with valet service. From the main road, there is a few meters of walk to the restaurant, definitely walkable, but if you feel like, they do have buggy as well. Caution - you may have to wait long to get your car back from the valet. We had to wait for around 15-20 minutes. Overall - It definitely was a good experience. I cannot say the service part for evening weekend crowd but make sure you have a reservation to be safe

The food and ambiance were just good. One would still wonder why the advance booking is required, since nothing felt so special or so managed that it needed an advance booking. This could have been any other fine dining restaurant of Bangalore with no requirement of an advance booking. Management and the staff were very kind and friendly - they tried their best to accommodate for our requirements. Food was good, fresh and well cooked. The fact that everything feels / smells very smoked and that the smoke is more or less in the air most of the time- did not leave much scope for other flavours in the items served to unfold on our palate. For a fine dining experience it could have been clearly better. Needs better ventilation mainly because it just felt very claustrophobic on the rainy day that it was today, with crowd cramped up in the available space and only narrow spaces on the first floor. The music clearly felt very loud in the first floor since speakers were positioned right overhead of the narrow alleys where sitting arrangements are made - was kind of unpleasant, We couldn’t hear each other in the family across the table. The cocktails and mock-tails were very well curated. Lotus kunafa clearly being a must try ! Remember to remind them that adding loads of cheese onto everything doesn’t make it any more European - barring that the recipes were quite good. Worth a one time visit.
