CAUGHT COCKROACHES IN AN INDIAN VEGETARIAN DISH.
I was travelling and stopped here for afternoon lunch. While i was having mine, the fellow stranger next to me suddenly stopped having his food and started to inspect his food closely, he clearly found a dead cockroach floating. I took my hands of my half finished food the moment i saw it. He took the food directly to the one who prepared it, that person tries to false convince the victim saying its jeera, takes it into his own fingers and throws it away. I couldn't restrain witnessing it, I raised my voice asking him what kind of jeera has legs and antennas? And why did he threw it away like that if it was really just jeera? No reply. The story didn't stop there, i stood next to the victim after he finished explaining to the cashier. The least we expected him to do was to sincerely apologize, but he was even more shameless He laughed at it with his overlapped upper front teeths, says these things happen and instantly wears a face mask to stop getting his image spoiled, Tries to distract the other spectating customers by mouth. What an absurd.
I do understand that this happens, but it only happens when proper pest repellent measures are not taken. Around 60% of your customers are vegetarians and you serve them cockroaches. You guys shouldn't be running food businesses if you cannot consider all its...
Read moreVery bad experience. I paid for 2 North Indian Thali, but was issued only for 1. While taking delivery at self servuce counter, the staff denied to give 2 North Indian Thali stating that only payment for only had been made.
After taking the person at cash counter to task, 1 more North Indian Thali was provided.
The Self Service Counter staff could have informed me about having issued only for 1 North Indian Thali when I gave the paid order bill to him, instead the rude counter staff behavior has given bad taste of food & treatment to the customer.
Moreover, the pricing is very high when compared to the quality & quantity of the food that is provided.
Very below average quality & quantity doesn't justify the pricing as the curd rice that was given was just 2 tablespoon exactly in quantity. The Pulav that was provided was just not tasty at all.
I'm a regular customer to Gandhi Bazaar Uphara Darshini since it was started way back in 1987, but with new person in management of the business has made a negative impact in terms of pricing, quality & quantity of food...

I visited the place for lunch today afternoon, I wanted to have south Indian food which was inexpensive, hot and quickly available and the place did not disappoint me. Had ordered for South India meals for dine in and Udin Vada for parcel. The limited meals is aptly portioned to fill your hungry tummy. Rice, 2 chapatis, kurma, Rasam, sambar, subzi along with curd rice, fryums and a sweet and tangy pickle which were a good accompaniment. The billing as well as the order was quick enough. I opted to stand and eat at the table counter since I didn't have much time at hand however seating arrangement on the 1st floor with service is available. Udin Vada was packed neatly with ample coconut...
