I wasnāt supposed to be here, but Iām so so glad that I landed up at this hidden gem.
I had originally planned to visit Mysore Koffeeness, but it was closed. With time ticking and work calling, I needed a quick spot nearby and just 100 meters away, the map showed Naviluna. Little did I know I was about to stumble into something truly special.
Walking in with zero expectations, I found myself in a charming old colonial-style house, still under renovation but already radiating character. The first-floor seating was warm, elegant, and quietly inviting. I went through the menu only to realize I could barely understand a thing mentioned. Trusting the staff, I went with their recommendation: Eggs Benedict with Glazed Shiitake Mushrooms. Even the dish description flew over my head, but when it arrived, it was a revelation. Rich, savory, perfectly poached eggs, and the real standout: those smoky, grilled mushrooms. It was unlike anything that I have had before and absolutely lip-smacking š.
And now, letās talk about the star of the show ā the coffee.
I ordered their Americano, and let me just say , this wasnāt just coffee. This was an experience šš¼šš¼. Bold, complex, and beautifully balanced, the pour-over brought out flavors I didnāt even know coffee could have. It was rich without being overpowering, smooth but deeply aromatic. Hands down, this is the best Americano Iāve had so far. If youāre a coffee lover, trust me, this alone is reason enough to visit Naviluna.
To top it off, Naviluna is also a craft chocolate house, offering unique, artisanal flavors both in-store and on the menu. Itās one of those places that surprises you in the best way ā thoughtful, soulful, and full of flavor.
Whenever Iām in Mysore, this is going to be my go-to coffee haven. Highly,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI subscribed here to a 1 week long chocolate course under the big title of "naviluna academy" that was supposed to take place at 02/2023 at naviluna. The course wasn't a cheap one, 72000rs, and I was paying 24000rs already before. Only 2 days before the course was supposed to begin, David, the owner, notified me on an email that he decided to cancel it. i was already then on a bus to Mysuru, and my accommodation was booked. David said he will give me a refund for the 24000rs that I paid. after i saw the refund didn't arrive, he ignored all my emails for more than a month, till i started contacting a lawyer and wrote him I'm going to start a legal action against him. So at the end i did get my refund, after many ignored emails and me threatening with legal actions. I guess that as a foreigner owning a business in India he didn't to mess with the law, so his business visa will continue to be granted. That's only my guess, I don't know the reason why he did so, but I would stay away from someone as such, and even though I almost never wrote a bad review in my life, I felt a responsibility to share this information...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFive Stars for the ambience and setting . A lovely , century old mansion , renovated authentically to reflect the Old Mysorean ethos . If you are looking to make great pictures for the album , you will not be disappointed. But , if you are looking for a memorable plate of treats , look elsewhere . The fare at this cafe is just too mediocre to justify the price tags. The brownie , our first order , was too dry and brittle while the cream poured on it had no taste at all , much less the promised ālavender infusedā\ā flavour . And the Coffee , though somewhat flavourful , was not hot and consequently, insipid. With that , we dropped the idea of ordering anything more . The Chocolate shop on the Ground floor has interesting blends if you like dark chocolate .
Since it is a heritage building , it is not friendly for those with leg problems - the ground floor itself is accessed by a few stone steps without railings and the cafe is on the upper floor , via narrow steps . There are chairs in the garden space , under umbrellas, but service to this area takes time . Parking is on...
