Good food, great ambience, value for money.
Restaurant is located on car street in the heart of Mangalore. The dining experience starts with generous car parking which is well attended. You have option to have your food inside the car, at the eatery (Champa Sweets) or at the restaurant. As you enter the restaurant, you will be welcomed by a variety of Shri Krishna's brass idols exuding positivity and enhancing the overall ambience.
The food served here is pure vegetarian and has South Indian, North Indian, Chinese and few western cuisines. Having been to this restaurant several times, it has not disappointed us even once.
The South Indian fares which is usually served for breakfast, lunch and evening snacks has local Konkani flavour. Breakfast has the usuals, there were some specialities like Bibbe Upkari (tender cashewnut fry) which is worth the try. While we felt lunch was not the best we had, it was not disappointing either. For evening snacks we tried their burgers, pizzas, rolls and fritters. All of which was lip smacking. We strongly recommend Pani Puri which is served at Champa Sweets which was certainly one of the best we had in Mangalore.
The best part of Pai Tiffins from our experience has been the North Indian fares served for dinner. Some of our favourites include Paneer Butter Garlic, Veg Pulav, Palak Paneer, Paneer Manchurian amongst many others.
In summary, I highly recommend this place for its good food, pleasant ambience, great service and...
Read moreI’ve been a regular customer here, but today’s experience was absolutely disappointing. It’s shocking how poorly some of the staff treat customers, and it seems like most of them are just working for the sake of it, with no real effort or care.
Today, they served tea that was completely cold, yet they heated the copper cups to make it seem hot. Instead of acknowledging their mistake, they chose to defend themselves, acting as if we were in the wrong for pointing it out. The staff even tried to manipulate us by saying that what we felt was not true at all. Initially, the tea was served in brass cups, but they changed it and brought it in a stainless steel cup, insisting that our experience wasn’t valid. This was the moment we felt truly insulted, as they questioned our dignity instead of accepting their mistake. That’s when we decided not to drink the tea at all—we simply paid the bill and left. This experience deeply saddened me.
The attitude of the staff was even worse than the service. I’ve seen this before—there are 2-4 staff members who will definitely damage the reputation of this place. Today’s experience just proved how little they care about customer satisfaction. These staff members who do no justice to their job. As customers, we notice these things, which is why I’m sharing this in my review.
If this is how they continue to treat customers, I won’t be returning. I used to love this place, but after today’s experience, I can no longer recommend...
Read moreHad a pleasure of dining at Pai Tiffins on Cart Street, and it was an absolute delight. From the moment I stepped into this charming eatery, I was greeted with warm smiles and an inviting ambiance that made me feel right at home.
One of the highlights of my visit was the Rava Masala Dosa. It was a culinary masterpiece that left me craving for more. The dosa was perfectly crispy on the outside and had a generous filling of flavorful and aromatic masala on the inside. It was a true gastronomic delight that I won't soon forget.
To complement the incredible dosa, I ordered a strong filter coffee. It was the ideal accompaniment, boasting a rich, aromatic flavor that woke up my taste buds and provided the perfect balance to the spiciness of the dosa. This coffee was a testament to the authenticity and attention to detail that Pai Tiffins prides itself on.
The staff at Pai Tiffins were attentive, courteous, and knowledgeable about the menu, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The cleanliness and hygiene of the restaurant were also noteworthy.
In conclusion, Pai Tiffins on Cart Street offers a culinary experience that's hard to beat. The Rava Masala Dosa and the strong filter coffee were truly exceptional, and the overall dining experience left me with a smile on my face. I can't recommend this place enough, and I'll definitely be returning for more delectable South...
