3.5/5 We visited on 17 may and 18 may for breakfast. We have mixed experience. 17 may - there was medium crowd. Got seats instantly. Ordered 2 tomato onion uthappam, masala dosa, paddu. All tasted fresh and delicious. The Uthappa had masala stuffing on top of it. 18 may - it was a Sunday, and there were so many people. Manpower is very less, so they couldn't manage the crowd properly, so we had to wait. Almost 15 to 20 minutes to tell our order. After that. We received our order after 20 minutes, but the Uthappam didn't had the masala on top like how we had it on the previous day. The person who takes care of the restaurant just told that it's not available or something, but the rate was not reduced. We paid the exact amount. they couldn't manage the crowd properly and they couldn't serve the food on time. If there is crowd, they need to put some more manpower or at least they should make sure that food is completely served. Serving one day with masala and the other day. If there is no masala, it’s disappointing. Also the tables were not that clean. We could see Sambar things all over it. It’s a small house where they are managing the people by placing some tables and chairs. In a small city, we cannot expect ambience, but overall the food taste is good, but service can be...
Read moreWe decided to visit Taste of Brahmins for breakfast on our first day in Hampi. It is seemingly a family-run breakfast eatery in the vicinity of the Virupaksha temple. There was a fair amount of waiting since we visited during rush hours and eventually got a place to sit in what seemed like the माजघर of the establishment which was connected to the kitchen. With the murmurs of the patrons outside and the busy sounds and calling from the kitchen inside, we enjoyed the Paddu plate, Uttappa, Masala dosa, medu wada plate, idli plate and by far the best filter coffee we had in Hampi. It was so good we decided to go for a second round. The service is fast and efficient. The servers (family members) are very friendly and approachable and help you out with any problems you have with the food. It is definitely a must visit for breakfast when in Hampi and visiting the...
Read moreSurrounded with places that serve parathas or sandwiches for breakfast, I was so glad to have found a place that served Idli and Dosa. The place was clean enough, the food was delicious and the price was reasonable. As it was a house converted into a hotel, the usable area was small. There were four tables, three of which were spacious enough for four people each and one table suitable for six people. If you're unlucky, you'll have to wait for some time, but thankfully not for long. The owner was very friendly and provided the ordered food as soon as possible. Having eaten Idli, Vada, Ghee Masala Dosa, Onion Utthappam and Paddu, I can easily recommend this place for anyone looking for a good South Indian breakfast. All of this being said, I would skip the coffee as it was below average. But, I was told by my fellow travelers that the tea was...
