If you’re visiting Hampi and craving a perfect blend of relaxation, good vibes, tasty food, and warm hospitality, Chillout Bamboo Restaurant is the place to be. Tucked right beside the famous Virupaksha Temple and Hampi Bazaar, this cozy spot delivers a peaceful and vibrant experience from morning to night. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the laid-back vibe — bamboo-thatched roof, floor seating with cushions, colorful ethnic umbrellas, Bob Marley art, and ambient lighting that completely transforms into a trippy blue-lit haven at night. It’s not just a café; it’s a vibe.
🍽️ Food: • The food is absolutely worth it! We tried the cheesy grilled sandwiches, French fries, English breakfast (eggs, baked beans, toast), and Indian breakfast — all fresh, filling, and flavorful. • Great variety for both Indian and continental palates, with generous portions.
🧘 Ambience: • Perfect for chilling for hours — play chess, read a book, or just vibe to music in the background. • The interiors turn magical under the night lighting. It becomes a whole new place to relax and hang out with friends.
🤝 Special Thanks:
We especially want to thank Malli, Suri, and Mohammad Bhai — three amazing souls who made our visit even more memorable. Their hospitality, kindness, and friendly nature made us feel like family. They’re truly the heart of this place!

Read moreWorst staff .. overpriced food . Staff was extremely arrogant. I went with my 3 friends for breakfast. We ordered tea, omelets and English breakfast . The staff served the tea first without even asking us . ( usually restaurant either ask when tea needs to served or hey serve ir later as it will kill the appetite) when we asked him to serve the tea later thren he started arguing with us said they serve tea at the start and we shd have told him he we wanted tea later. We requested him to serve the warm the same tea n serve it later. He said that he doesn't have instrument to warm it
This restaurant serves omlet for rs 100. The omelets are served without bread. When we asked the staff, they said that this is how they serve the omlet
The staff goofed up our order and again started arguing with us that we have him he incorrect order and confused him We really lost our patience n wanted to speak to the owner of the hotel.. then the staff said he is the owner. At the end he served us bruschetta..even thr thela wud serve better bruschettas. Our bruschetta was a normal toasted bread with beans n i guess cauliflower n loads of cheese which was not required.
The beans in the English breakfast n only a sauce with few beans in it...one can see this in one of the...

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience here was genuinely upsetting. From the moment we arrived, the staff came off as rude and unprofessional. There was a clear lack of basic hospitality, and their behavior felt irregular and even dismissive at times.
While a few of the dishes tasted decent, the portion sizes were shockingly small for the price—and to make things worse, the waiting time was unbearably long. When I tried ordering something additional, I was met with a snarky comment from the staff questioning why I hadn’t ordered everything earlier. Honestly, that level of attitude is the last thing you’d expect in a place that’s supposed to offer a relaxing experience.
The only saving grace was the ambiance—it did have a nice, laid-back vibe. But sadly, that alone doesn’t make up for the overall poor treatment and frustration we faced.
This was, hands down, one of the most disappointing restaurant visits I’ve had in Hampi. I really wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re okay with being treated poorly and overpaying for underwhelming food. Definitely not...
