Ambiswamy's Vegetarian Restaurant is a culinary gem nestled in the heart of MG Road. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with warmth and the tantalizing aroma of spices dancing in the air. My recent visit to Ambiswamy's left me utterly impressed, and here's why.
First and foremost, let's talk about their signature dish, the masala dosa with cheese and ghee. This divine creation is a symphony of flavors that will undoubtedly leave your taste buds in ecstasy. The dosa is perfectly crispy on the outside, while the filling of spiced potatoes infused with melted cheese and ghee creates a heavenly sensation with every bite. It's a true testament to the culinary mastery of Ambiswamy's kitchen.
But the delights don't stop there. The vada served at Ambiswamy's is nothing short of exceptional. Golden brown and crispy on the outside, yet soft and fluffy on the inside, each bite of the vada is a burst of authentic flavors. Accompanied by a selection of chutneys that complement the vada beautifully, it's an experience that's bound to leave you craving for more.

Read moreI really can't understand the logic behind this much crowd in this restaurant.
I visited it twice. First time I visited on seeing top reviews on Google. That time I ordered a plain dosa, but dosa had a sour taste. I didn't like it at all.
My second visit was last week. I couldn't find any other restaurant in that area for breakfast. As I had no vehicle with me I wasn't able to go to any other location to find another restaurant. These are the reasons why I went there for the second time despite knowing that food will be bad.
This time I ordered Idly considering that Dosa was not good lst time. Unfortunately the food was even more pathetic this time. Sambar had a burnt taste. I think that day sambar really got burnt, some black residues were also floating in that. Chutney had a bad taste of old food. Moreover idly also had some bad taste. In fact it was really difficult to eat that. But as I had an exam that day and I didn't have time to visit another restaurant, I ate as much as I could.
As a result of not taking breakfast properly, after 30 minutes of exam I started feeling hungry and I was literally starving throughout the exam. Becoz of that, I got sick for some days.
But in my both visits I observed that a lot of people are coming there. They stand in that que to get token and wait for long time to eat this horrible food. Most of them come on vehicles, but they reach here instead of going to some other better ones
My doubts are -
Am I the only one who got that burnt sambar Am I the only one who experienced that sour dosa Why do so many ppl go there to eat this bad food Why do they have these many good reviews on google despite this much...
Read moreI recently visited Ambiswamy Vegetarian Restaurant, and it was a satisfying experience, especially if you’re looking for authentic Kerala-style vegetarian food in a casual setting. This is not an upscale restaurant, so don’t expect fancy interiors or air conditioning. Instead, it’s a simple, no-frills place with one big hall that is spacious enough to accommodate a good number of diners. The ventilation relies on ceiling fans, which kept the space cool enough during my visit. I went there for lunch and decided to try their afternoon Kerala meals, which turned out to be absolutely fantastic. The meal came with a variety of side dishes and curries, each packed with flavor and prepared in a traditional Kerala style. The rice, curry, and side dishes are normally unlimited in Kerala meals, and I was pleased to find the same here. The flavors were rich, and the dishes complemented each other perfectly. The portion sizes were generous, making it great value for money. If you’re someone who enjoys authentic Kerala food, this meal is definitely worth trying. One thing to keep in mind is that the service can be a bit slow during peak hours. It seems to get quite busy during lunch, so you might need to be patient if you’re visiting at that time. However, I felt the quality of the food more than made up for the slight delay in service. Additionally, parking is available for a limited number of cars, around 3 to 4, so plan accordingly if you’re driving there. Overall, Ambiswamy Vegetarian Restaurant offers delicious food in a simple and relaxed setting. If you’re looking for authentic Kerala cuisine without any fancy extras, this place is definitely...
