Aripa Restaurant in Kochi is truly a hidden gem for anyone who appreciates authentic flavors, warm hospitality, and a comfortable dining atmosphere. From the moment you step in, you get a sense of freshness and care that the team behind Aripa puts into everything, whether it is the food, service, or the ambiance. It is one of those places where you feel welcomed instantly, and the staff genuinely seem happy to serve, which makes the experience all the more enjoyable.

The restaurant is beautifully set up with modern yet cozy interiors that blend simplicity with elegance. It is not overly flashy, but everything from the lighting to the seating has been carefully thought out to provide guests with comfort. The ambiance feels perfect for both casual dining with friends and family as well as for a quiet meal if you want to relax after a long day. The seating arrangement allows for privacy, and the overall cleanliness is commendable, which immediately sets a positive impression.

Now, coming to the highlight—the food. Aripa specializes in offering a variety of dishes that celebrate both local Kerala flavors and popular Indian cuisines. The menu is well-curated with something for everyone, whether you are a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian. The seafood, in particular, deserves a special mention. Freshly sourced and cooked with traditional spices, every bite feels authentic, as if prepared in a home kitchen with love. The fish curry meals are outstanding, rich with the flavors of coconut and tamarind, perfectly balancing spice and tanginess. The prawns and crab dishes are also worth trying and reflect the culinary heritage of Kerala.

Vegetarian options are equally satisfying, with delicious curries, crispy snacks, and well-balanced meals. The porotta served here is fluffy and light, and it pairs wonderfully with their chicken and beef curries. Their biryanis are another highlight—aromatic, flavorful, and generous in portion, making it a great value for money. What makes the food at Aripa stand out is that it is not just tasty but also feels wholesome, with the right use of spices and fresh ingredients.

The service is excellent, with attentive and polite staff who check in at the right moments without being intrusive. Food is served promptly, and the staff is happy to recommend dishes based on your preferences, which shows how well they know their menu.

Overall, Aripa Restaurant in Kochi is a place where taste, tradition, and hospitality come together beautifully. It offers a delightful dining experience that leaves you satisfied and wanting to return. Whether you are a local or a visitor exploring Kochi, Aripa is definitely...

We were a group of 5 and we went here on 22nd April, 2023.

First of all, the seating arrangements and the lighting were sublime, not too dim and not too flashy. Just the right amount of lighting. Seating was superb & comfy.

Then the waiter came & took our order. He was minimal, no loose talks or anything unprofessional. He just said what we wanted to know and Kudos to that🥂

Then came the main attraction, obviously the food❤️. Boy, oh boy, they did wonders on that biriyani. Not upto the kind of supreme ecstacy you would get at Kozhikode. But i would definitely say this is one of the best biriyani available in Kochi. The quality & quantity was top notch. We ordered a dragon chicken too. It was so juicy and tasty, but the quantity was way too low for the price. Anyways, really enjoyed it. The falooda was superb while considering the 170 rupee price.

There was a person at the upstair section where we did dined, with a formal pants and shirt. He was too arrogant and acted like we ate our food with his money. The attitude was wrong, i think he did treated customers with prejudice based on his personal insecurities or something. When i gave him my card, he tried to do the payment in the machine he had. It wasn't working, i said i just used my card that day morning. Card was okay and told him to swipe and retry the payment. He started making wierd gestures & started talking with horrible attitude. He said maybe you have surpassed your 3000 limit or you haven't enabled your card so and so. I wasn't offended in his words but the way he said it was not something he should be proud of. I said i would pay the bill at the entrance and walked downstairs. The billing section guy at the entrance was nice and professional. He just took my card and tapped it, done the payment in 3 seconds. I was relieved and happy to know i wasn't the culprit but the machine "King of upstairs" had was the problem.

Anyways the food they served was awesome. So these kind of arrogance didn't bothered us...

If you’re looking for a great place to enjoy authentic Kerala-style food in the heart of Ernakulam, Arippa Restaurant at MG Road is a solid choice. Located in the center of the city, it is easily accessible and has a welcoming atmosphere.

Ambience & Service

The restaurant has a nice and cozy atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for group gatherings. It is neat and well-maintained, which adds to the comfort of dining there. Since we were a large group of 13 friends, we decided to reserve our seats in advance. The restaurant staff was professional and had our table ready when we arrived, ensuring a hassle-free experience.

Food Experience

Arippa is known for its signature dish, Ravuthar Chicken Biriyani, and we made sure to try it. It lived up to the hype—flavorful, perfectly spiced, and absolutely delicious. Apart from that, some of our friends ordered Beef with Kappa, Meals, and Prawn Biriyani.

While most of the dishes were delicious and satisfying, we were quite disappointed with the Prawn Biriyani. The prawns had an old, foul smell, making it inedible. It was surprising and disappointing, considering Arippa’s usual food quality. We are unsure why they failed in this dish, but it was definitely a letdown.

Overall Experience

Despite the issue with the Prawn Biriyani, everything else was great. The ambience, cleanliness, and overall food quality make Arippa a good choice for a meal in Ernakulam. However, they need to ensure better quality control when it comes to seafood dishes.

Rating: 4/5 Would I visit again? Yes, but I would avoid the...
