The one star rating is not for the ambience or the food quality but for the absolute disregard for the Covid protocols and hygiene requirements. I would agree that they would do a temperature check and get the hands sanitized. But thereafter , it is absolute apathy for covid mandated hygiene requirements and protocol. I would like to describe each personnel on the physical attributes since I do not know their names.

Manager (Assuming to be the manager since he has always been t here whenever I have visited the place) A bearded person with slight paunch - He meets around people and discusses various things without a mask . he even goes out of the cafe , meets people and then come in without even an attempt to wear a mask.

Steward( He was serving me the food) A thin clean shaven person with a slight paunch (does not suit his lean figure) . He was wearing a loose black mask. The mask keeps falling down the chin incessantly and he keeps pulling it up with his hands and then serves food with the same hand. He also removes the mask or pull it down to the chin while entering the pantry and then again pulls it up / wears it with the same hands prior serving the food. The open food on the plates is even touched by these unclean hands at times while serving. He also talks to acquaintances after removing the masks.

The lady Chef at the pantry who makes cold coffee. She does'nt wear a mask while in the pantry. She at times moves out of the pantry to the dining area after wearing the mask and then serves food with the same hands and does not sanitize. Once she moves back to the pantry she removes the mask and then starts making whatever she has been asked to without sanitizing.

I have made it elaborate so that the owners take immediate corrective action and also to make the owners and the unsuspecting customers aware , this is a breeding ground for Covid 19 outbreak , if corrective actions are not taken. Please stay safe and please provide a safe environment to sit and relax in the already tough times. Do not make it even more...

Edam Café, located in the heart of Panampilly Nagar, is a charming spot that effortlessly combines a cozy atmosphere with a delightful menu. The café's warm, inviting ambiance makes it an ideal place for a relaxing brunch or a casual catch-up with friends. With its comfortable seating, tasteful decor, and soothing background music, Edam offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The interior of Edam Café is thoughtfully designed with a mix of rustic and modern elements. The soft lighting, greenery, and artistic touches create a homely yet chic vibe. Whether you prefer a quiet corner or a spot by the window to watch the world go by, the café has seating options to suit everyone.

The menu at Edam Café is a delightful mix of continental and local flavors. From hearty breakfasts to light snacks and desserts, there's something for every palate. Their all-day breakfast options are a must-try, especially the fluffy pancakes and creamy scrambled eggs. Coffee lovers will be pleased with their variety of brews, and the iced coffees are particularly refreshing on a hot day. The café also serves a range of fresh juices, smoothies, and teas for those looking for non-caffeinated options

The staff at Edam Café are friendly and attentive, making sure you have everything you need without being intrusive. Service is prompt, and the team is knowledgeable about the menu, often making recommendations if you're unsure what to try. Edam Café offers great value for money. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and the portion sizes. It’s a great spot for a casual meal without breaking the bank.

Service was really very pathetic. Food was average. Ambience was fine. Just explaining here about their such a bad attitude service scenarios that happened to us.

We had to wait for such a long time to get the orders delivered. Drinks came first, we asked for extra straws but that extra straws were taken by the service boy when the next dish was served and then again we had to ask.

Just 1 dish was served for the 6 people (we did order other dishes at the same time but was not served together) and cutleries received didn’t had any fork.. then we had to get their attention to get the fork (to get their attention is whole another process)..then received 4 forks for 6 people. We had to ask for forks and straws again. Then no tissues were there..no water was served.. we had to ask for all these basic stuffs.

When ordered a juice, we did mention it not to be cold. He agreed and went. But when it came it was very cold, when enquired, said the fruit juices are only available cold. The one who took order could have said that when we mentioned it first!

We ordered an extra drink before the main course was served..but it dint get served even after finishing food..when asked he said he forgot and when asked to cancel that despite waiting for it for a very long time.. he didn’t even had the courtosy to apologise but was happy to cancel.

Only bill came without the need to ask them and in such a speed!

And also one other service “speciality” of this place is we ll have different service people for table when enquired for our needs so that no particular person could be blamed. From what we witness,It may be because one will be busy relaxing in the empty swing or may be other ones will be snacking at the counter.

We didn’t go there to have free food..but the attitude they showed was such. Never recommending this place to anyone nor...

We tried the blood orange and chicken-olive pizza, along with watermelon and orange juice… The chicken-olive pizza was unlike any other pizza I’ve had before. It was the first time I used a knife and fork to eat pizza. The thin crust was perfectly crisp, and the inside was juicy, with just the right level of spice that made it incredibly tasty. Even though the blood orange juice was made from syrup, it didn’t feel like a typical syrup-based drink. It was a perfect blend of flavors — refreshing and delicious — definitely recommendable. What stood out was how they served the juices. Both the watermelon and orange juice came in fluorescent flasks, which added a creative touch to the presentation — really impressive. Ambience-wise, the cafe is filled with plenty of plants and antique utensils. While it gives a rustic charm, I felt it made the space a bit congested — reducing it slightly might make it feel more open. The staff are very polite and even help with getting good pictures by adjusting the lights they have — such a thoughtful gesture! I also met Sithara there; she was very friendly with the staff and is doing a great job by giving opportunities to part-time staff who are still studying. They also have a separate space for celebrating personal events like anniversaries and birthdays, featuring a cozy swing seat. I absolutely loved that corner. Even the wash area is decorated with plants, giving every nook and corner a natural, refreshing feel. Overall, it’s a nice and cozy cafe with great food, creative presentation, and a charming vibe.

It was a long pending plan to visit Edam ever since it opened. Thanx to Corona for prolonging it this long. We went there for Dinner, as usual hungry and ready to eat even whoever comes across our way. Chef - Srijith greeted us and helped us with the orders. We went the classic route with a chicken gumbo soup, Caesar Salad, Mojito, Orange Juice and some breads. My younger one loved the cold pressed fresh orange juice. We ordered a Vintage Stake, Chicken Duxelles, Slider Burgers, Penne Alfredo and a Chicken Cheese Quiche. The food was scrumptious, the quinoa from chicken duxelles reminded me of some old school memories. As I don’t feel easy without being critic, I would have relished more if the black pepper sauce had a pinch of salt in it. The mashed baby potatoes can go royal with some fresh cream and a bit of parsley for topping. Kids ate a main course with the fabulous spread of deserts there, where I as a spectator mostly. We wanted to try a few more things like Focarata breads, tenderloin sandwich, but tummy (though popped out enough already) did not pooled in any team spirit – may be since on an Easter evening. Thus, marking it a must visit again spot. Location: Easy to locate Parking: Enough for the seating capacity Ambiance: Just Wow! Foot Note: The place is smaller than I expected based on the google photos. But if you ever wondered about the uses of burettes and pipettes in your chemistry labs you should visit here
