Hotel Aryaas Park — Restaurant in Kerala

This restaurant , Hotel Aryaas Park , is quite good , and there's just a few hitches here and there . Firstly , the food. It is a veg restaurant , so the variety is obviously reduced , but that's not their fault. I assume that most people come here for basic Indian dishes like the Ghee Roast , Puri , and Rice for lunch . I can confirm that the Ghee Roast is excellent , and left me feeling I could have a second ! I recommend you try it if you do decide to go there . And since it's vegeterian , and not too rich / heavy , its a good choice. Secondly , the ambience . It's really good for the most part , but here was were I ran into a problem : insects . There are a few mosquitoes, have'nt seen any flies , and I did spot a large moth (I THINK its a moth ) and it was NOT a welcoming sight for me , a person with a big fear of bugs ( do they have a word for that ? ) and Arachnophobia ( they do have a word for my fear of spiders! 😁) . Thirdly , the hygiene . Again , it's good for the most part , but problem #1. There possibly may be flies that I haven't spotted & 2. The bathroom ( especially the toilet ) is a big no-no . It smells really bad of urine and isnt at all well maintained. So in the end , it gets a 4/5 from me . I liked this place.

I’ve only been here 4 times. Once for a late breakfast and three times for lunch

What I liked The reception by the associates who serve us has been prompt, pleasant and efficient The food has been fresh, warm and tasty The staff have come by the table more than twice to enquire if we want something And even if one of us hasn’t ordered rice, they still urge us to sample some of the side dishes you are served with rice, they seem to want to be generous The liquid soap in the hand wash isn’t exactly high quality, but they haven’t diluted it with water. (You’ll understand what I mean if you’ve been to enough such places 😃) And the dispenser actually always had tissues to wipe your hands after wash. Another quaint reality. I’ve seen this also in another similar eatery in Kakkand…generous with soap and tissues The tables and atmosphere is clean and not stuffy. They have two good looking fly catchers which apparently work well too. We did not see any flies.

And we also did not see trainees and cleaning staff leaning nonchalantly against the wall or pillar and staring at guests eating food. ( something else we see in some other places)

Update 25th Nov 2024 Visited for lunch. Good meals. Service was good, a little bit of indifference, but nothing to complain about. No one is perfect anyway. Posting a couple of pics...
