Arsalan Restaurant & Caterer — Restaurant in Kolkata

I wanted to see what the hype is about Arsalan, as multiple friends of mine had suggested to visit this place when I visit Kolkata. This month I got the opportunity 🙂

Well, to be honest this branch of Arsalan is a place where you can have your private table, which was essential for me. We hopped on to this branch from the 7 point branch because the 7 point Park Circus branch didn't have table system and you have to share your table!

+++++ Positives:

1/ We liked the taste of the Biriyani, it was just the way we have expected. The aroma was nice, Flavourful rice, with tasty Aalu and Egg. 2/ We ordered two Kababs, one of Arslan Kabab and Kathi Kabab. The Arslan Kabab was wrapped in thick layer of cheese and it tastes delicious. The Kathi Kabab was also good but it felt little dry but it tates awesome with Rumali paratha. 3/ The service was also good and it was nice to see that the waiters can speak in Bangla. I hate it when people living in Bengal can't speak or attempt to speak in local language. 4/ The restaurant is maintained well and it's clean, this branch is good to bring your family.

----- Negative:

Biriyani was just served without any accompaniments- there was no raita, salad, or salan. Also Salad doesn't refer to just arranging cut pieces of cucumber onion tomatoes carrot etc.

Feedback: Ideally Biriyani is served with some complimentary salad, Onion Raita & Mirchi ka Salan. Please try to include them. Charging separately for these accompaniments (few slices of cucumber, onion,Carrot, tomatoes)...

Yesterday, I have orders 2 mutton rezala. After ordering the food I was waiting for my percel. After 15 minutes a person came and told me 2 plate mutton rezala was not available, only one plate is available. He suggested me to take a plate of chicken rezala instead 1 plate of mutton rezala. Then I went to the counter. Then the counter person forced me to buy a plate of chicken rezala. I told her if mutton pasinda was available? She told yes. Then I told him to replace one plate of mutton pasinda instead of one plate of mutton rezala. Then she calculate and told me to pay additional 80 Rs which was the additional cost. I have paid Rs 80 but she denied to give me the new updated bill counter part which was shown at the time of delivery. At the time of delivery they didn't give me the new updated bill. At night when I have tested the food. The taste of both the food was disgusting. Specially the "mutton pasinda" have worse taste. It's so disgusting it can't be eaten. I have ordered mutton pasinda many times from this arsalan. But this time they make damned in taste. Also in mutton rezala, there are no gravy. Just a piece of mutton and a piece of red chili.

This time, total waste of money. I have been buying food from Arsalan (Ripon street outlet)for the past 13 years. This is first time i have received this type of food and this type of service...

Finally i reached this place at the Park Street just just opposite foot to On track restro. This is not that big like lot other Arsalan as per the ambiance is concerned but yes some decent sitting arrangement. Service is good and prompt and staff here are very friendly and talkative. It was a casual walk in with some friends and it went the way it should be.

Arsalan Special Kabab : They gave this dish name of them because it certainly deserve their name tag. I guess one of the best and most liked starter they can provide. Marinated with cheese, coriander, spices and grilled to perfection. An inventive fusion of western flavors with the Indian tikka. Recommended

Chicken and Mutton Biryani : Their biryani is legendary of all time, one of the best in the city but in the recent times it deteriorated its quality big time in some other outlets. But this was not the case here. It was looking decent and smelling yummy. Tasted like legend, no complaints.

Chicken Reshmi Butter Masala : How they never fail to make this so outstanding every time. Creamy yummy and tasty. Grilled chicken drowned inside the creamy gravy and tasted like heaven, complementing the butter nan extremely well.

Butter Nan : Soft and light. Spreaded butter all over and i could smell it from far.
