Location- Kalaghoda can be said one of the most famous area of Mumbai and this restaurant is relocated on the corner of the Jahangir art gallery. (4.5/5)
Theme- We all know that from so many years they are serving one of the finest Indian food to us. The concept itself is the winner for me. (4.5/5)
Ambience- Simple yet cozy is what i will say about this place to start with. Located on ground and first floor with bright lighting and fresh yellow colour to the walls. Walls got frames with old images of old bollywood stars which really gives wow feel to the restaurant. Seating made comfortable with couches and big chairs. Felt refreshing once i entered inside. (4/5)
Food and Beverage- Always been the fan of their food since years. Authentic Indian cuisine is rare now a day. Copper chimney has been serving it from so many years and always had that upper hand in the authenticity in their food. Bar menu got few of the cocktails which are twisted thinking of Indian palate. Food Menu is limited and that’s how it should be when it comes to authentic Indian food. Starters are a must try weather its tikkis or kebabs. They got few of the chaat dishes which i didn’t try this time. Their signature dish which is really popular now a days is Kadak Roomali should not be missed. Food had balanced flavours in each of their dishes. (4.5/5)
Staff/Service- Impressive staff which are with them from years. The person who was serving us was working with them from more than 13 years. So no doubt they were suggesting the best dishes and service was at highest level. (5/5)
To sum up- food of this restaurant can’t go wrong. As you must have read the food had really really authentic taste and good balancing of flavours. Each dish had its own wow factor. Menu got good products in each category but dessert section was little odd so would love to see some more popular or different type of desserts in it. Since years i am enjoying their food and will keep doing it. Would love to visit again to try few of the other dishes of them. Strongly recommend this restaurant o\if you are looking for really amazing food and wow feel to your meal. Go for it, you...
Read moreThe food at Copper Chimney is always fantastic. Thanks to the chefs and kitchen staff for that.
The staff and service at the supposedly new and improved kala ghoda branch were...TERRIBLE.
We went in for an early dinner. Right at 7pm when the restaurant opens. Mr. Sanjib, who seems like rather a senior waiter, was rude from the start. He took forever to take our order, mismanaged the very basic hospitality rule of ensuring starters come in at the same time by a huge margin, was completely unapologetic and found our disappointment either funny, or something to be ignored. Then we asked for the main course early so that at least that would come on time, it was brought even before the second (delayed) starter was finished. We ended up spending the rest of the meal fully ignored, served ourselves, and when we expressed our dissatisfaction, received mumbled apologies from other staff members and the spoons for a free dessert quite literally TOSSED (by Mr Sanjib) on our table in passing. They tried to comp the bill, but we paid and left without dessert. Mr Sanjib had the audacity to ask WHAT the problem was.
Unsure if it is because we pulled up in a cab instead of some fancy car that we didn't meet the staff's high standards for patrons...
To add to the dissolution of what should have been a fun evening, the washrooms at the establishment (at the very start of the dinner shift) were FILTHY.
We've always loved Copper Chimney, for its food, (only the rumali roti was leathery, but that could be because the waiter left it on the pass for too long)...but won't be returning to this branch.
4 of the 5 that i have written on Google are positive. This is the first negative one. I rarely write reviews, let alone negative ones. I understand people can have bad days and everyone is just trying to earn a living. But Mr. Sanjib was spectacularly rude and totally uncaring and casual about the fact that his behaviour was inappropriate and bothered us. He should not be working front-of-house/in...
