Went there for a lunch at around 12.30. the location is easy to find. Just follow the lane from Tata House, and at the end of the lane you can see this place. Ordered Surmai Thali with rice Bhaakri. The plate came with a fish curry , mug usal(lentil preparation), a coconut-chilly-kothimbir chutney, a piece of Surmai Fry , and Sol Kadhi. 3 soft as sponge , warm Bhaakri were served. A fry papad was also served.
I had very high expectations from all the food items and was not disappointed much.
The smallest item , the chutney was simply THE BEST chutney i have ever had anywhere till now. It literally felt like the perfect blend of taste and texture. No doubt prepared fresh. I would be ready to pay just for another helping of Bhaakri and chutney...!!
Fish curry was bit disappointing. Could have been less sweeter. The mug usal was really nicely prepared in typical Konkani style, although a bit heavy on salt. The Piecé de resistance, the fish fry was as expected, awesome. Crispy, spicy coating from outside and the fish was really soft and moist inside. Really enjoyed eating it. Would love to repeat this too !! Sol kadi was slightly bitter, was maybe prepared earlier day. But no complaints as it was never the focus 🤪
Had small helping of rice along with curry. Okayish.
Overall i would definitely suggest it for fish lovers looking for affordable authentic home cooked fish preparations. Next time I'm planning to taste Bombil and Pomfret. Special thanks to the cooperative staff.

Read moreA small story.. Some summers ago, one hungry afternoon, felt like having Costal Maharashtrian food, so headed towards Pradeep Gomantak, looking forward to a hearty meal.. Its a good 10mts walk frm my office and by the time i reached, was famished. As i neared, my heart sank as the place was closed! Dissapointed, was about to turn back (cursing them in my mind) when i saw a Paper stuck on the door. Half expecting some tragic news as reason for their closure, what i read was simply incredible: The small hand written note in Marathi simply said: Mansaa Gaavi Geeli Sheeti saathi, dukan 15 diwas bandh rahil! (As the cook & serving staff have gone to their native place for farming, this restaurant wil remain closed for next 15 days) I STOOD DUMBSTRUCK! In todays world which enterpreneur will shut shop for such a reason... Said a small prayer for this team, smiled back all the way. Eat another Day 😊
Every time i come here and remember this incident, keep smiling as i eat.. Like today- One more hearty meal. 😊😊😊😊😊
Todays meal was a Thali, consisting of Mutton Masala, Mutton Gravy, 2 Chappatis, Rice, Chana Bhaji, Onions, Chutney...
Read moreLocated in the Fort business district of Mumbai, the place is little difficult to find. But once you reach there and have the food, the search seems worth. Pls don't carry any fancy restaurant notion in mind. This is a small and no -nonsense place meant only for enjoying their food. They offer a great veriety of non veg food. Although the name has word "Gomantak" in it, the food preparations are more in Malwani genre. All dishes are definitely deserve to be tried and difficult to praise any one above any other. But fish fry verieties are a must and a class apart. Usually the place is more crowded during lunch hours due to it being situated in office area. But many families make it a point to travel and reach here for dinner as well. Priced reasonably, service is prompt, taste wonderful....
