One star for the good food
Service is very very poor, typical new generation that does not know/care about running the restaurant. No respect for customer, kept asking for money in middle of having the snacks.
When asked for tissue paper to wipe face, was pointed towards hand dryer. FTW?!
Should be avoided for poor attitude of the owner. Not worth it.
Edit based on the response from owner:
If the guy at counter would have asked for cash I would have gladly given. But since he did not ask while taking the order it was naturally assumed that it was a eat first pay later kind of arrangement. Not was it written anywhere to pay first. So it was bad to ask customer for money in middle of him eating the snack.
Thank you. Tissue paper is a basic restaurant etiquette so thank you for understanding and agreeing to resolve. The food was provided in a paper plate,if paper waste avoidance was the motto, stainless steel plates should have been used as used by other competitor...
┬а┬а┬аRead moreA charming little eatery serving traditional vegetarian Maharashtrian dishes on the very busy arterial Gokhale Road. Been around for more than eight decades. Started off specialising in dairy products. Over the years, they have honed to perfection the art of making traditional snacks, including Batata Vada, Misal, Pohe & Kothimbir Vadi. Like most of the other stuff, the Puri (whose recipe is a closely guarded secret) is prepared afresh and served piping hot along with yummy groundnut chutney. Crisp dark golden brown in colour, one bite & you are in bliss!! Recently, they have diversified into making lunch items like Poli Bhaji with a daily changing menu. They also stock ready to eat snacks like chivdas, chaklis, and various sweets including...

It's a small eatery opp to the Merwans bakery. Went here with my friend, we tried their sabundane vade, thalipeeth and lastly piyush.
The sabundane vade was a bit wet from inside so it wasn't going well the coconut chutney. But it tasted truly amazing with the dry chutney, highly recommend.
The thaalipeeth goes very well with the coconut chutney, very filling, highly recommended.
The piyush was really good too. One note here, I their the piyush from prakash as well as panshikar both were exactly similar, the only difference being the latter was ~Rs.8 expensive.
