Castle's Barbeque — Restaurant in New Delhi

Overall avg experience. We a group of working professionals had planned a lunch at Desi Villagio which is at the 2nd floor N block. While going upstairs, we decided to check castles barbeque. The person at the reception committed us to provide lunch as we reached around 3:15min with additional 1 veg & nonveg starter from A La Carte. All starters were not being served what was mentioned in their menu, due to lunh time closing, the staff was serving in a hurry interrupting our group's conversation. I had to point out to ask what was chef's special to which the staff tried to fool out of me by saying the crispy corn is the chefs special where as the kumb tikka is the mushroom tikka. I called another staff and asked to which he got chilli paneer dry after 30mins claiming it to be chefs special. After chefs special I had to ask for additional starter that was promised to us and discuss with 3 staff about the promise which reception person had done with us. They got us dahi kebab which were pathetically sweet and no veggies inside. Usually dahi kebab or shollay filling has bell peppers and other veggies to balance the taste, which are conical shaped and slit half. But they served us coin sized cutlets of sweet hung curd. We were not able to finish the starters and the staff from behind was calling us for buffet that we shall proceed for buffet. I understand that the lunch time was about to over at 4:15 but when it was promised to us then why was everything carried in a hurry. We were still having our buffet in between the staff came for the payment with their Paytm EDC machine. Do they think we were about to run without paying in middle of having the main course? I prompted the staff twice, that they could wait for it untill we finish with the desser as still we were having main course, the person taking the payment ignored me and was busy in taking payment from one of our person who was giving his marriage treat. At the dessert section the live ice cream maker staff was busy watching the cricket match and now following our instructions to which We had taunted him for not paying attention to us. He vaguely showed us the empty vessel claiming ice cream is finish now. Very poor hospitality. Have never faced anything like this at BbqNation,I think thats why it is a brand loved by all. Starters quality was also not good. Staff behaviour was also bad, everyone was in a hurry. BbqNation staff asks atleast 4-5 times that is everything going as ler expectations would we like to make any special request or any customization. Castle's Barbecue - N Blk, CP Circle

2/5 - Average food, poor service, Different treatment if u show dineout/Zomato discount, lack of variety, too crowded.

We had planned a party in late June & for that purpose, we visited this outlet. We had booked a buffet for 4 via Zomato pro discount.

According to the app, dinner slots start at 7pm, so we'd booked a slot for 7:30pm, to compensate. Imagine our surprise that on sitting, they told us the tandoor isn't fully fired up. (So someone who books a slot of 7pm, valid for 3 hrs, will get tandoor items for only about 1.5 hrs? Then why keep so early slots?)

So, it took them until 8:15 to bring proper non-veg marinated starters, until then, plain veg starters. Well, ok, can be ignored, it is after all, early.

After our starter course was done, (which, btw, was with very less variety for non-veg, just 2 chicken items, 1 fish, 1 prawn & perhaps 1 more was there) We got up to have dinner. They have made some impressive counters like ice cream & momos, which, thankfully, is included in buffet. Momos were average, so we only ate once. Ice cream rolls were in a limited choice as well.

What i didn't like about the outlet - Dinner, had only 1 choice of chicken/mutton dish (not counting biryani) How's that a non-veg buffet, with only 1 choice? When we asked for more prawns, just before dinner, they took 20 mins to deliver, with 3 different waiters being called out. Not specific to prawns, i had to call 2 guys to get some water over 15 mins. So, poor service. They did create an issue with the discount code not being applied over this or that. Not clearly following rules. The dinner area was a narrow lane, which could only hold 2 people standing side-by-side = too crowded. I didn't get a premium CP vibe, considering the things i noticed (see pics for spelling mistakes). We pay for extra in CP, not just becuz it's expensive, it's also becuz it's hi-fi.

To their credit, they did remove service charge, after I asked them to.

I'd advise not wasting ur time with this outlet, they clearly are more money oriented & miser. Go to "The GT road" nearby, much better worth! Hope they can improve their service, or i can't help it, this outlet is doomed to be trodden upon by competition soon, and it's competition is intense. Go to "The GT road" once...
