Andhra Social and Cultural Association — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

I recently visited this place as it was remembered as a landmark and known as a prestigious club....

Its mainly visited by members and getting a membership is very difficult..

Nonmembers are allowed only if u accompany with members..

Service is very very very poor as restaurant is outsourced to thirdparty..

We alomst waited for half an hour to get a meal served afternoon as they were running out of meals... (poorplanning)

The people who are serving food most of them from other regions and language is a problem for them

After more than one hour we finished the lunch we waited another 20 minutes to get the bill as system was slow... again when we wanted to pay through card swiping machine was not working and cos of this we waited another one hour untill the machine was repaired and paid the bill.

Please note on such a prestigious club not even a single machine was working... Either on restaurant or bar or on billing area..

Such a pathetic condition of the club..

Have decided not to go again and warn others to be aware of such conditions of this so called great club

Its suited for aged people who can spend te time relaxly and not worried about anything..

Not suited for youngsters ...

I stayed here ie in ASCA popularly known as Andhra Club for three nights. I was accommodated in Room Number 315 situated on third floor. Room was really good. Spacious and cozy. Availability of 24/7 hot and cold water is another facility. Good Cooling through Split AC. Staff are polite and customer friendly. They used to clean room and change bed linens appropriately. Only issue that irritated me was insufficient variety of food cuisines. Breakfast spread was almost okay....dosas, idlis, pongal and medu vadas but no tea. Only coffee was available in breakfast. During lunch and dinner I faced problem because of insufficient variety of vegetarian cuisines. I was told by someone that they use soda in the cooking process of rice. So I didn’t take rice. And other food items were of low quality. However, variety of tea/coffee was available in Coffee Shop and I used to enjoy sitting there sipping my choice of tea without sugar. Prices of all food items are very reasonable and this is another plus point. Moreover, the whole property is surrounded by trees. Hence the area is less polluted...

Hotel accommodation is not at all good. Not worth the price. Lot of renovations needed. Bathroom stinks and walls are chipping off due to water leaks. There is no room service, so basically they won’t change sheets or towels, we have to manage with whatever the supplies they provide on day one. I was here with my family, I see so many men roaming in the corridor during nights ( they must be drunk) making loud noise and smoking in the lobby and the smoke enters into your room. When I complained about the issue, I was told that they are members of the club and the management can’t do anything about it. You can’t sit in the lobby unless you are member of the club. Folks this is the worst hotel I ever stayed in chennai. All the good rating you see here might be fake or older. Overall the management is the worst. I strongly advise everyone especially with the family, DONOT COME TO THIS PLACE. I was here during COVID Pandemic, it was compulsory to wear a mask. Guess what? If you are a member of the club there is no need for the mask. I stayed at this place...
