This Lunch was a part of our whole day outing on a weekday. No preplanned occasions. Just a casual phone call quickly turning up into a dineout. We reached the restaurant pretty early than we usually have lunch. I not knowing much about the restaurant requested my friend to order (of course suggested dishes as she is a frequent visitor). I was calm and quiet for 2 reasons, 1. I'm new to the restaurant. 2. She decides whenever we go out. Enough of the build ups. Coming to our orders, I'll list them down and review it to my knowledge and how my taste buds find it. We ordered the below 1. Mutton chops 2. Egg Aapam(3) 3. Idiyappam(3) 4. Nethili Fry 5. Aval Milk(2) Mutton Chops: We thoroughly enjoyed it. The taste was good. Nothing to complaint. They semi gravy was perfectly cooked and went well with both the Egg Aapan and Idiyappam. However we definitely have had much better than this. Egg Aapam/Idiyappam: We both are a fan of these rice based food. Both of us liked it( I am not going to take much about a dish unless it has masala flavours in it). Nethili Fry: Dei you will never find a perfect nethili fry until you eat in roadside/seaside/muniyandi vilases. But I am sure this fry one came out went and I know I had the last nethili fry. Aval Milk: This was her suggestion and since I go by her orders, we waited for the milk which took longer time than usual. The milk was a mix of jagerry, nuts, aval(flattened rice). I became a big fan of this drink and recommend to whoever I know. Thanks to her. Ambience: The ambience was not too posh. we didn't ask for it either. It is decent place for all families too. I felt AC could have been regulated better because this summer is haunting us. I was also said this restaurant don't use refrigerated food, no food adulterants. Price: Even though she paid the entire bill I should review the pricing. This place is definitely not a costly place to visit. Affordable and good place to hangout. Overall Rating of mine is 4* out of 5. Do visit for your own experience 🙂

Crescent Restaurant in Adyar is a Kerala cuisine spot that brings the essence of traditional South Indian coastal flavors to the heart of Chennai. My recent visit turned out to be a mix of delightful surprises and a few letdowns. Ambience & Service: The ambience is simple and clean, giving off a homely, no-frills vibe. Service was prompt and polite, with the staff well-informed about the dishes, which is always a plus in a specialty cuisine restaurant. What I Ordered: 1. Cream of Roasted Chicken Soup This was easily the highlight of the meal. The soup had a rich, creamy texture and a unique, deep-roasted chicken flavor that set it apart from the usual cream-based soups. It struck a perfect balance between hearty and flavorful, making it one of the best soups I’ve had in recent times. 2. Fish Molly The gravy here was impressive – a flavourful, coconut-rich base that captured the authentic essence of Kerala cuisine. It was fragrant, well-seasoned, and paired excellently with the appam and idiyappam. However, the fish itself was a letdown. Deep-fried and overcooked, it lacked seasoning and tasted quite bland – a stark contrast to the otherwise delicious gravy. A softer, more delicately cooked fish would’ve elevated the dish significantly. 3. Appam & Idiyappam Both were fresh and served warm. The appam had the right amount of fluffiness with slightly crispy edges, and the idiyappam was soft and well-steamed – great accompaniments to the molly. Final Thoughts: Crescent Restaurant delivers an authentic Kerala experience, especially in its gravies and soups. While there's room for improvement in how the proteins are handled, the rich flavors of the base preparations show promise. I’d definitely return for the soup and to explore more of their seafood and traditional dishes – hopefully with better execution on the fish next time.

The restaurant was just amazing. The food and the service was top notch. Each and every dish exceeded our expectations. The serving time was also very less and the food was freshly served. Thai coconut chicken soup: Perfect start to your meal with rich coconut flavour Red pepper chicken soup: A bit on the spicier side but worth every sip Korean chicken wings: A must must try dish and it was just mind blowing .The wings were soft and juicy and the sauce was finger licking good. Squid fry: Perfectly cooked squid with the right masala Pesto chicken pasta:Perfectly cooked pasta with veggies cheese and topped with grilled chicken Malai chicken tikka: very classic and was worth every bite Mutton paya: The star dish of the meal. The rich gravy and the perfectly cooked paya just elevated the meal experience to a different level Malabar parotta: Very soft, flaky and crispy. The size of a parotta was big too Chicken kothu parotta: percent blend of spices and the parotta served with a mind blowing gravy Brain fry: soft and juicy with great flavouring Dry fruit falooda cream: Blend of falooda and cream loaded with sabja seeds, nuts and cream.Definitely a must try.It is on a lesser sweet side though but really heavy and filling Dry fruit falooda: perfect falooda
