House of Exclusive Indian Sweets

Today Adyar Ananda Bhavan Sweets and Snacks is synonymous with commitment to quality and high degree of professionalism and use of state of the art technique in the manufacture of sweets, savouries and snacks. The Seventy five branches of the concern speaks volumes about hygine and service rendered by the organisation and the trust and reliability that the customers have reposed. Adyar Ananda Bhavan Sweets and Snacks caters to all sections of the public, in India - be it the melting mysorepauk of South or the multi variety sonepapdi of the North or the mouth watering rasagolla of East or the ever green dry fruits of the West - Adyar Ananda Bhavan Sweets and Snacks is the pioneer in the manufacture of such sweets in the rich tradition of the respective regions.

Three Decades ago a small sweet shop started by Late K.S.Thirupathi Raja in the then Metropolis of Chennai, India, has now flowered into Seventy five branches covering the length and breadth of Chennai city, its neighbouring places such as Kanchipuram, Erode, Madurai, Trichy, Coimbatore ,Tripur and the states of Karnataka, Pondicherry and Delhi. M/s. Adyar Ananda Bhavan Sweets & Snacks is now well established and firmly in saddle as one of the leading and exclusive sweets and savouries manufacturer in South India . What started as a humble beginning it has now grown into a 12 million US $ turnover concern. The driving force behind the concern now is the two brothers Mr. K.T. Venkatesan and Mr. K.T. Srinivasa Raja to whom the baton of rich sweet tradition has been passed on by their late father...

This is an excellent spot for enjoying dosa and other South Indian breakfast items. Conveniently located near the famous Mylapore Temple, the place has an authentic feel and is maintained with a high level of hygiene. The ground and first floors are designated for dine-in, while there's a separate section for takeaway items like sweets and savouries. The first floor offers comfortable seating for those choosing to eat in.

The menu also includes some Chinese dishes, though I didn’t try them on this visit. The staff were very courteous and cooperative, which added to the pleasant experience. Clean restrooms are available on both the ground and first floors, which is a big plus. I would definitely visit again.

Cons: During a recent visit for a marriage event at the Mylapore temple, our group of nearly 100 members was given food tokens to dine here, and we received the mini tiffin combo. While the combo was well-varied, one issue stood out — coffee was included by default, and they did not allow it to be swapped for tea. It would be more considerate to allow guests the option to choose between tea and coffee, as not everyone drinks coffee. This is especially important when accommodating large groups or special occasions.

A minor suggestion to the management would be to consider offering more flexibility with coffee or...

Have been a customer at A2B since it started at Mylapore. Have noticed the customer service is below par and the store doesn't seem to attend to concerns. Customer has to wait for the people who provide packing service, with no queue or token system.

I noticed a gentleman started to fight for his turn as he had been waiting too long with no service person caring to take an order from him. Every customer, every order (big or small) must be honoured in same way. To add to chaos is the delivery app representatives. Store should have dedicated person to handle delivery app requests (clearly differentiated by notification for public understanding - like wearing a different colored cap). Store should provide tokens for our turns. Use a QR code and have people scan it upon entry, so you may create a virtual queue. Let the customer browse for his needs and when his/her turn comes up, have them attended to in orderly fashion.

Hope the management takes concerns constructively to...

I have no idea why people prefer this brand. Yes, the food is mostly good. Consistency is the key. However, the attitude of the staff is so off putting. This one, I visited to buy some sweets and snacks for a friend. This needed to be packed well, as it's travelling nearly 6K kms. The staff, I had some questions on the product and he was answering like I was getting it for free. Took ages to pack and no one knows who's attending who. It was a week day and not really packed/ crowded the resto was. Pathetic service and would be the last time visiting this store.

This restaurant is located close to Kapaleeshwarar Temple and has a great atmosphere. The prices are reasonable, and the thali had a generous variety of dishes, making for a very satisfying meal. Most of the dishes were flavorful and well-prepared, especially the sambar and rasam. However, the third dish at the top (the vegetable curry) and the fourth dish at the bottom (the red-colored dish) could be improved in terms of taste and consistency. Overall, a great experience and definitely worth trying!
