Visited Grand sweets in mylapore recently after my visit to a doctor nearby... After the appointment it was time for lunch... So me and my wife browsed a bit and decided on grand sweets... Though we were carving for Non-Veg food... But settled for the best and nearest option due the intense heat..
It has only road side parking... Sufficient for bikes but questionable for cars...
To seat around 60 people... Cleaning is average....Felt a bit stuffy...cant complain much as the climate nowadays is like hell... But a power cut happened on our visit... The guys took 5 mins to restart the gen-set... Nothing special in the decor... Normal place...
This is where they completely lost it... Being the only customers in the resto waiting to be served...The order took nearly 20 mins to be completed... Was just a thali meals and fried rice... The power cut might also have resulted in the delay... But for one customer if they took this much time...wat would happen if the restaurant was filled....
Our order consisted of a north indian thali, fried rice and panner tikka.... My experience is shared below.....
Panner Tikka : Was really soft and juicy.... While one piece was over cooked... Another one was undercooked... Nonetheless.... Overall an above average dish... Chutney served with was also bang on....
Fried rice: A normal average fried rice... Nothing great... Felt the quantity was little less...
Noth indian thali : Came with tomato soup with was bang on with the crumbs... A Naan... Was bit hard.. But tasted good... A small portion of veg biryani... Was just average.... Felt more like tomato rice... Jeera rice was awesome on the other hand... Paneer butter masala served was also really good... Felt the lack of butter...Aloo gobi masala was above average... Perfectly cooked and tasty... The highlight of the dish was the dal... Really yummy...hot too...
Taste of items is really above average...service is slow... The prices are average... But quantity is a bit low for the thali and fried rice... Nonetheless... Worth a visit if u are looking for a...

Read moreYesterday (21.11.17) I bought Badam Halwa. Very very tasty and fresh. Just melted. I had for night tiffin, Kanchipuram Idly, it also tasted very good and fresh. Also I had ordered for Pongal. It was stale and appears to be reheated. Whole night I had discomfort and indigestion. Hope they will take care in future and ensure quality food intake. I never expected Grand sweets hotel will serve stale food. It was a rude shock to me. The whole night I could feel indigested Pongal in my tongue. Never it happened to me so...
