My goodness, this is a real hidden gem in the centre of Ubud! The best local food I've had since being here for a month. Having lived here years ago, it's so refreshing to find a warung with a gorgeous little garden out the back.
It's family run and staffed so the money goes directly into the local economy. The service is super friendly, with good music and food that's full of authentic local flavour (and soooo reasonably priced). I had the Nasi Campur with extra chicken - 48k IDR and local black rice pudding. Delicious !
If you're looking for tasty, local, authentic Indonesian food in the middle of Ubud but in a preciously scarce, quiet, pretty spot away from the noise (the garden) - try them out. You won't be disappointed:) ! Only thing is to either remember your mosquito spray or use theirs at the desk.
They are 2 doors down from Mudra on the quieter end of Jalan Goutama.
Matur suksma, I'll be back :) Helen...

It's nice inside but it took 15 minutes for our order to be taken then about an hour for food, maybe longer. The restaurant was nearly empty by the time we ate but there were 2 other families with children also waiting for their meals for over an hour. Food came out spaced apart and was all quite dry. We had a mei goreng and chicken satay which were dry and not as tasty as a lot of Indonesian food we've had. Definitely not worth the wait. They charge 10 percent on the end of the bill which lots of local warungs don't. Staff were running around but noone seemed to be getting food. Disappointed with the food and service and didn't leave here until about 10:30 after going there at 8:30 I wouldn't recommend, definitely not at busy times but even at quieter times the food...
Read moreA nice little place that we have been to previously. It has a really nice design and a really pleasant atmosphere away from the main noise of Ubud. The pond outside is excellent to be near just for the sound of the water (ok and to watch the koi as well) depending on the weather.
The prices have jumped since our last visit and the food quality is a bit mixed too. We had to wonder if this is why it was much quieter than our previous visit a few months ago. Previously the food was excellent, however tonight we tried the duck and it was as tough as leather which was very disappointing. It's a pretty good menu with a lot of options to suit the different dietary preferences of people (meat, vegetarian, vegan etc).
All the staff are friendly and pleasant to deal with which is...
