The RR Chocolate - Beachwalk Shopping Center — Restaurant in Kuta

Updated to 4 stars because of the professional response to my original review. It’s also good to forgive each other. I also apologize for my mistakes & shortcomings in whatever ways.

I just hope that the few newer reviews were genuine and from actual customers & not from the employees in order to increase the stars. I’m going to give benefit of the doubt & not assume otherwise. It’s just people can feel sincerity.

This place would have received 4-5 stars if it wasn’t for the unprofessional, passive aggressive and rude service by one of the team members.

I was called “Bu” and I asked for him to not call me that as I don’t like to be called “Bu”. He could’ve taken it lightly with genuine friendliness and call me “kak” instead. But he kept calling me Bu intentionally, which I could sense passive aggressiveness from him to the point of writing a note in the system about me to his coworkers, which was visible to me on the screen when I was trying to pay. Even his coworkers at the register were visibly confused or were placed at an awkward situation due to the notes.

You would think a high end place like this with premium chocolate and setting (that just recently opened, too!) would offer more professionalism, genuine hospitality and warmth service (especially being in Bali!). There are other decent places which you could sense genuine warmth, friendliness and hospitality from the workers and employees.

I wanted to purchase more and considered of becoming a regular, but after that unpleasant experience, it made me not want to.

Without a doubt, the chocolate is top-notch, but I must be honest as a repeat customer of RR Jakarta—the food at the Beachwalk location doesn’t quite measure up. Three of us came in super hungry last night, ordered appetizers, main courses, desserts, and tea. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations.

The risoles were disappointing; the oiliness was overwhelming, and the filling was sparse. It felt more like eating just the skin, with no satisfying melted sensation. The lamb tongseng also needed more cooking time, as the lamb was not as tender as in the Jakarta branch. On a brighter note, the burger and pasta were decent, though not remarkable.

What stood out as a major concern was the service. The waitstaff and cashiers seemed to need more training. We had to call them several times, but they were preoccupied with tasks unrelated to customers. Additionally, we ordered fettuccine but were served spaghetti instead. If you sit outdoors, be prepared for minimal attention, as no waitstaff came to check on us.

I still love RR and remain hopeful for improvement. I look forward to seeing...
