"Dapur: An Exceptional Ayurvedic Dining Experience
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dapur, and I must say, it was an absolute delight from start to finish. As someone with a keen interest in Ayurvedic principles, I was intrigued by Dapur's focus on providing wholesome, nourishing meals inspired by this ancient holistic approach to wellness.
From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted by the warm and inviting ambiance. The decor seamlessly blended modern elements with traditional Ayurvedic design touches, creating a serene and calming atmosphere that immediately put me at ease.
But the real standout was the food. The menu was curated with great care, offering a variety of dishes that catered to different Ayurvedic doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha). I decided to try the breakfast which was an absolute revelation. The flavors were perfectly balanced, with each ingredient thoughtfully selected to promote harmony and balance within the body.
What truly made my dining experience exceptional, however, was the service. My server, Santi, was an absolute gem. Not only was she attentive and efficient, but she also took the time to explain the Ayurvedic principles behind the dishes, providing me with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the food I was consuming.
Santi's passion for the cuisine and her genuine desire to share her knowledge were so refreshing. She made me feel like a valued guest, rather than just another customer, and that level of personalized service is truly rare these days.
Overall, my visit to Dapur was a truly memorable experience. The food was exceptional, the ambiance was soothing, and the service was outstanding. If you're looking for a unique and nourishing dining experience that celebrates the principles of Ayurveda, I highly recommend Dapur. It's a gem that deserves to be discovered by anyone seeking a holistic and delicious...
Read more🌿 A Hidden Oasis of Flavor and Calm 🌿 Our visit to Dapur Usada was an absolute delight. You’re kindly asked to remove your shoes upon entering — a small but incredibly relaxing gesture, especially after a long, hot day exploring the Monkey Forest and walking through the rice fields. Your body immediately starts to unwind.
The interior is beautifully and thoughtfully designed, with high-quality materials and great attention to detail. Everything we ordered was fully vegan, which we truly appreciated.
We had the Yogi Burger and the Nasi Campur. The burger featured a crispy vegan patty, avocado, a spicy sauce, and vegan sour cream — all perfectly balanced. The Nasi Campur offered a vibrant mix of tempeh, jackfruit, crispy potato chips, dips, and vegetables. We also added two mild sauces on the side, which complemented the meal very well.
One special touch we absolutely loved: the open kitchen concept. The kitchen is integrated into the dining area, not hidden away — so it feels like a part of the restaurant, not separate from it. The chefs enjoy the same beautiful view as the guests, and aren’t tucked away in back rooms. It creates a sense of connection, transparency, and calm — and it’s truly well done.
Service was quick, the staff incredibly friendly, and the overall atmosphere peaceful and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in...
Read moreEDIT April 2023 Well I keep coming back here even after one time the food wasnt great. However the dosas are really good as are the uttapam (mini veggie pancakes). Having tried a few different dishes I upgraded my initial review to 4 stars from two. The staff are super nice, attentive and service focused.
Still forced to listen to cruddy Americana though.
Original review/------
Music - It would be really nice to hear Indonesian music rather than cookie-cutter Americana . You would think somewhere supposedly presenting authentic Balinese culture could do better.
I came here the very first time they opened a few years ago.
Review of The cauliflower curry. It was just that / only cauliflower in curry sauce. No other veg at all. The nice tiny side of a little pancake didnt make up for the complete lack of imagination in creating the so-called curry.
Plus points - the masala chai was so good I had a second one. and lovely staff, the presentation and ambience all really good. It is relatively expensive food though - add tax 10% and service chg 5% and then they suggest tipping as well as the service charge 🤔 Popular with western hipsters. Maybe a style place to hang out and be cool?
EDIT Jan 2023 response to the owners... thanks for your response, I will certainly pop in for a chai next...
