My family and I visited Bali in April 2025 from Sydney, and during our 4-day stay, Madhubann became our go-to spot for every single meal we could have there. As a pure vegetarian family, finding proper veg food while travelling can be tricky, but Madhubann made us feel like we never left home.
From the moment we stepped in, the warm ambience, soft Hindu stotrams playing in the background, and the clean, calming setup made us feel welcome. But what really stood out was the hospitality, especially from the owner, Mr. Arun, who personally went to every table, checking in and chatting with customers with genuine care. I had a wonderful, heartfelt conversation with him about his journey and family.
Now, the food, absolutely delicious. We especially loved the Tandoori Stuffed Mushrooms, Manchow Soup and Momos (my eldest daughter was obsessed and even suggested opening a franchise in Sydney!). We also had Pav Bhaji, Dal Tadka, Pani Puri, Jeera Rice, Kadhai Paneer, Tandoori Roti, and Buttermilk, every dish was full of flavour, made with love, and served hot and fresh.
It was honestly surprising to find such an authentic, 100% vegetarian Indian restaurant in Ubud, a real hidden gem where options like this are rare. Madhubann didn’t just serve us food, it gave us comfort, familiarity, and warmth.
Thank you Mr. Arun and team for making our trip so special. I can’t wait to come back – maybe even just for another meal at Madhubann.

Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at Madhuban Restaurant in Ubud, Bali, and I can't express enough how incredible the experience was. The food was absolutely exceptional—each dish was a delightful journey of flavors that truly captured the essence of Indian cuisine.
We began with the Paneer Tikka which was a standout, with the paneer perfectly marinated and grilled to perfection, each bite bursting with flavor. Then for the main-course, we had Hing Dhaniya ke Chatpate Aloo, a beautifully spiced dish that perfectly balanced tangy, spicy, and savory elements and The Kadhi Pakoda that followed was rich and comforting, with the pakoras beautifully tender and the kadhi full of depth and flavor. And, of course, the Lachcha Paratha was the perfect accompaniment—crispy, flaky, and just the right amount of indulgent.
What really made the meal special, aside from the food, was the warmth of the people behind it. Mr. Arun, the owner, is a true host who takes pride in offering a wonderful dining experience, and it’s clear that his chef, Mr. Subhash, is a master at his craft. The care and attention to detail in each dish are evident, and I felt like I was truly tasting the heart of Indian cooking.
