Amazing coffee. This is the place to go if you're in need of a good espresso-based coffee in Ubud.

Most coffee in Ubud seems to be dark roast, from my limited experience, and the coffee is not often treated with the delicate touch it needs to be truly great. Anomali manages to get their expresso perfectly but more than that they know how to froth milk properly and to pour a good latte as well. In my travels I have found this a rare combination.

More than that they are consistent in being excellent. This is an exceptionally rare trifecta wherever you find yourself.

I often avoid piccolo lattes and short macchiatos even at home for the simple fact that it's hard to get a barista to be skilled enough to make it well. Usually I have a latte so that the extra milk hides the bitter, overextracted espresso. Not so with Anomali, however.

This place feels touristy because it's for tourists. Make no mistake about it. And it's priced accordingly. But don't go fooling yourself into thinking that the coffee stalls on the side of the road are any more "authentic" or non-touristy. If you want to get some magical, authentic coffee experience in Ubud then I wish you good luck. If you want a place that has that same damn soundtrack playing on loop with cheap, kitsch Bali paintings on the wall then go elsewhere. You'll be able to find those cafes anywhere.

If you want the best coffee,...

My visit to Anomali Coffee in Ubud this January left me thoroughly impressed and satisfied with my espresso cravings. This cozy coffee haven stands out as my go-to spot for an exceptional coffee experience. The baristas' expertise is evident in every cup, delivering a rich, robust flavor that truly defines a superior espresso.

The ambiance is perfect for both a quick caffeine fix and a leisurely coffee indulgence. The attention to detail, from the carefully selected beans to the precise brewing process, ensures a consistently high-quality cup. The staff's passion for coffee is palpable, creating an atmosphere that elevates the entire coffee-drinking experience. For anyone in search of the perfect espresso in Ubud, Anomali Coffee is undeniably the reference point...

The food is delicious, the coffee is nothing special. Flat-white bitter, cappuccino sour. The most disappointing thing is that the prices neither in the menu nor on the scoreboard do not coincide with those at which the cashiers count. I have told them about it several times, but they do not change anything and only say that the prices that the buyer sees from last year. And on the offer to update them to real ones, the answer is - we can't do that. I suspect that the owner of the coffee shop is deceiving customers who are not careful enough when counting. Despite the fact that it is delicious here, this fact spoils the whole impression. I don't recommend it if you don't want to be deceived. When the prices in the menu are updated, I will...

The best cafe in Bali hands down! Right from the myriad of artisanal blend options available to taste/ buy to the quality of the beans, food and service, this place is unbelievably good! We went here twice, the first time in the evening for a coffee and croissant and the second time for brunch. We had the ‘Aceh Gayo’ and the ‘Sumatra Kerinci’. The coffee was extremely aromatic, full bodied and perfectly brewed. The almond croissant was freshly baked and flavorful. An absolute hit especially if you are an avid coffee drinker! We ordered the power breakfast with steak for brunch which blew our minds again as to how amazing the brunch food was! In a sea full of copycat cafes in Bali, this is a truly authentic cafe! A 100% must visit!!

Didn't try the coffee but commenting on service and cakes. Firstly, only one air conditioning was switched on and no one pointed us to the area with the air conditioning until we found it ourselves. Secondly, when given 30,000 in change, I was given 6 x 5000 notes which I felt was unacceptable. After requesting to at least change to 10,000 the cashier said he does not have any of those notes left. Even when the next customer who obviously paid with a 10k note, he also didn't offer to exchange. Thirdly, the Oreo cheesecake ordered was average only, nothing fantastic and the lemon tea was too sweet. Paid 70k for these two items which were considered expensive in Bali. Not sure if I would ever want to come back for coffee.
