What should have been a simple resolution to a restaurant order issue has escalated into completely unacceptable behavior from management. The HR department and Sligo management have doubled down on a basic mistake instead of addressing it professionally.

The Original Issue was Half our order arrived. Despite flagging this multiple times, staff refused to acknowledge the missing items and brushed us off. The situation dragged on so long that front-of-house staff even tried to package up our incomplete order as if we were leaving.

Laurie from HR contacted me claiming a "medical emergency" caused strained team members, then immediately backtracked saying it "didn't matter." This is manipulative and unprofessional.

Vague "medical emergency" claims (could mean anything from a hangover to actual tragedy) are used to put customers on the defensive. If genuinely understaffed due to emergencies, management should close the restaurant - that's not the customer's problem

It also was not my experience of a busy restaurant during our visit - small number of customers, staff standing around chatting, no apparent rush and I could see the ordering system from my table with it running clear.

A simple mistake that could have been resolved with basic acknowledgment and service recovery has instead exposed this company's poor business practices. At every stage, rather than taking responsibility, they've made excuses and doubled down on their errors.

Let’s get this straight.

A breakfast sandwich consists of various breakfast items, like bacon, sausage, egg, etc. bathed in old grease, squished in betwixt two slices of Aul Mr. Brennans, with cheap ketchup, or if you’re feeling fancy, Brown Sauce.

This has been a staple of Irish Culinary Classics since Moses came down the mountain with a couple of slabs of rock.

How dare ANYONE mess with a classic.

But….

Holy sweet (Hunger’s) Mother of Jesus…

The lads in Tank&Skinny’s HAVE messed with it, and then some.

I have no idea who Don is, but he has the most excellent sausages this side of Berlin. They have taken two of Don’s finest, partnered them up with a free range egg, some gorgeously thick sliced tasty bacon, a crispy hash brown, melted cheddar, and a drizzle of unctuousness in the form of sweet chilli mayo, and crammed the whole lot between a couple of slices of fresh sourdough.

Man Oh Man.

It’s breakfast perfection. A Sandwich of the Gods. People will come from miles away, just to get a glimpse of this masterpiece, and for those fortunate enough to taste it, your lives will never be the same again…

All Hail Tank&Skinny’s, and bow down before Don’s Sausage.

It's great to see a new place open and loads of people using it. There is parking behind the building. The place was very clean and has a welcoming atmosphere. We were shown to a table and given a lunch menu. You can order using the QR code attached to your table, or you can go up to the counter to order. The table number is on the QR code plaque. They offer sit down and takeaway and have a small selection of branded merchandise. They have a full range of beverages on the board behind the counter but not on the menu. There is a good range of scones and bakes at the counter. I got the adult size pancakes. They were very tasty. Very good coffee, too. The staff were friendly. The place looks great and there's even nice touches in the rest rooms. I'm looking forward...
