Very annoyed / upset after the experience we had on Sunday the 7th September,

I want to start off with saying ive been to this restaurant many of times and every other sister restaurant , But after how we wore treated on Sunday myself and partner are disgusted

Started off good greeted very well , Orderd starters boneless wings lovely as always Calamari is usually a favourite for us but it was sooo sooo greasy this time never complained as it was a first.

Went on to the mains then I orderd a ribeye Medium , it came well done with a burnt taste absolutely doused in salt and pepper in edible, i had no choice but to send it back so at this stage the 3 sides i had orderd and my pepper sauce are going cold.

The next steak arrives even worse then the previous one the staff had approached me and asked how is it now i cur it infront of her and she replied oh that doesn’t look nice , it was fully well done again and way overly seasoned and extremely greasy!

She offerd to send it back again , i explained to her we had came out for our anniversary and have children being minded for this date night and we needed to get back i cant wait around for a 3rd steak my parters meal was already finished she stood there over us then while he ate and made us feel really uncomfortable then said ok i will take off a side or two off the bill even though my whole steak and 3 sides hadnt been touched and 2 pepper sauces as i had to order a second because the first had gone cold , At this point we wore absolutely fuming what was meant to be a special day ruined not one apology did we receive we wanted to have dinner together not separate, i refused to pay for steak after sending it back to the kitchen and full 3 sides as it was not my mistake . I will not return staff turned rude to us not an apology and made us feel really really uncomfortable then the chef came out and was also looking at us im so disappointed we always loved this restaurant here and the millstone wouldve been our favourites for steak , but the service and treatment after was appalling and...

We had a gorgeous Friday night meal for 3 here. One of our party is gluten free and we were accommodated by the staff with a separate menu and recommendations which was great. We were also fit in last minute on a busy Friday night (as a result of booking the wrong date which was completely our fault so this was greatly appreciated!) Service in general was absolutely excellent, food and drinks (especially) were out very quickly and the servers were extremely attentive without being overbearing. The price is also extremely reasonable for what we had!

Here’s what we had; Starters: mushroom toast- one of the best we have ever tasted, absolutely delicious no fault + chicken wings (on the bone)- quite spicy but very flavourful and texture was lovely Mains: Moules-frite- these were enjoyed by our gluten free guest, they were originally brought out with bread on top (although they were requested to be gluten free) however this was immediately rectified by apologetic staff and a fresh meal was brought out- mistakes happen in a busy restaurant and this was no problem for us Steak: 1 ribeye and 1 filet mignon, steak was gorgeous, generous portions, I will say ribeye was rare instead of medium-rare but it was enjoyed all the same Sides: truffle fries, broccoli, corn on the cob, onion rings- all 10/10 This may be opinion based so no points taken but blue cheese mash was very overpowering with blue cheese flavour without being able to taste potato almost at all Desserts: baileys crème brûlée- absolutely delicious would highly highly recommend

Cocktails and wine were divine asides from the espresso martini (it was honestly very very poor- but fortunately it did not take away from our meal as it was ordered as a before dinner drink)

Overall we had a great evening, restaurant was busy and the atmosphere was great, cannot stress enough how great the staff was and the food was overall wonderful, plus the price was beyond reasonable!- highly highly recommend this restaurant and apologies for the...

A disappointing visit.

We were seated in the back part of the restaurant with low ceilings - the volume of group conversations around us was so loud that my friend and I literally could not hear each other across the table. I measured the sound at 117dB - above 115dB is the threshold for irreversible hearing damage😄

The prices on the menu initially look extremely affordable - however, all portion sizes are miniscule. Additionally, a tiny 20ml side of sauce with your steak costs extra. We ordered two sides each with fillet mignon and we left hungry.

I ordered my fillet medium - when it arrived, it was grey the whole way through. After eventually getting the attention of a waitress, she agreed and took the steak back to the kitchen.

At this stage, my friend finished eating before my new steak arrived.

The new steak.. was the exact same. Not a hint of pink, overcooked again. This time I couldn't catch the attention of any staff, and I was just hungry, so I ate it anyway.

The staff did provide one portion of free onion rings as an apology - just as well, because we were still hungry.

Getting the bill was an ordeal too - ages to get anyone's attention, I eventually went to the counter to ask for the bill. Even after hearing my request, it was still another 10 minutes before a different staff member approached asking if we wanted the bill.

The food itself was actually tasty (despite the overcooked steak), but everything else left us disappointed - the staff, the service, the background volume, the portion size. We left before dessert so that we could have an actual...

Order: 17oz Boeuf Tasting Plate (ordered medium), sides (onion rings, thick chips, broccoli & camembert gratin), 2 × Peras Merlot. Bill: €92.07 incl. voluntary service. This was one of the worst steak experiences I’ve had anywhere. Despite ordering medium, the meat was tough and chewy—so much so that we sent some of it back. Everything was over-seasoned and far too salty, sides included, which made the whole meal a waste of money. Front-of-house were lovely and genuinely tried to help, but the core issues are produce quality and execution in the kitchen. At this price point, the beef should be well-sourced and cooked with care—not saline and hard to eat. I hope management urgently reviews sourcing and cooking standards. As it stands, I can’t recommend and won’t be returning. PS. The 'voluntary' 10% tip is pre-calculated and rolled into the total, which can feel pushy/misleading—especially when the meal was poor. You'd have to embarrass yourself and ask for it to be removed. However, as I said the wait staff were nice.
