It was awesome to see Phil Lynott's statue! 😎 Beautiful statue and as a Thin Lizzy fan it was quite odd to stand next to his real size statue. He was quite tall btw. Phil was an amazing rock star! Gone too soon...😔 I grew up as a child - thanks to my brother - with Phil's & Thin Lizzy's great music in the late 70s, early 80s. So this was unforgettable for me to see his statue in Dublin and to take photos with his beautiful statue (see @jerrytahatravel on Insta 😉). Read moreAs a huge Thin Lizzy fan, a big part of wanting to go to Dublin was to pay homage to Phil at his statue.
Sadly the statue was not there as of 31/12/17. I asked the barman at the nearest pub what the score was, and he said roadworks had meant the statue going into storage. However, he commented it would likely be back at some point in January for the annual celebration of Phil’s life.
