"The Duke in Dublin is an iconic pub that embodies the essence of Irish charm. With its rich history and cozy ambiance, it's a must-visit. The warm, dimly lit interior exudes a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a pint of Guinness or a traditional Irish whiskey. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to recommend the best brews or provide insights into the local culture. Live traditional Irish music performances add to the authentic experience, filling the air with lively tunes. The menu offers classic Irish pub fare, from hearty stews to perfectly battered fish and chips. The food is delicious and pairs excellently with their extensive drink selection. While prices can be a bit steep, the quality and portion sizes justify it. One standout feature is the outdoor seating area. The Duke's prime location in the heart of Dublin allows for fantastic people-watching and a view of the bustling streets. The only downside can be the crowds, especially during peak hours, but that's a testament to its popularity. Overall, The Duke captures the true spirit of Dublin's pub culture, making it a memorable destination for locals and tourists alike."

Large and comfortable pub with nice servers/staff who provide quick service. Nice history of literary greats drinking here. The bangers and mash are well presented here and were okay, but not a lot of taste, we felt they were not as nice as every other place we went in Dublin, the sausages are very bland and had lots of non-meat filler, potatoes inferior to other pubs. The traditional Irish lamb stew was good, tender mild lamb and a good portion, note that it is fairly bland / a mild gravy with subtle flavor as expected. We enjoyed this place.

First time at the Duke Dublin. I had my usual Guinness and test to see how their fish & Chips are. Nice quaint pub restaurant. All servers and bartenders were very friendly and I can tell they all enjoy working together. That's a plus in my book. Guinness was delicious as usual. Fish & Chips were very good. Large piece of fish. Comes with fries and mushy peas. Fries could be deep fried longer. I like it more crispy, but still good. Mushy peas I'm still getting used to. I would definitely stop by again ! Thank you for a wonderful lunch ! 😋

A true gem of me and my wee fella’s memory making ‘Dad ‘n’ Lad’ mini holiday on our travels around Ireland for summer ‘21. In simple terms, Dublin as it should be - as told to me by my own dad and Dubliner grandad. In the eyes of this England born proud “plastic paddy” who is now an adopted Co. Cork citizen for 15 years - this 5 star review is very high praise indeed (Cork is the real capital, of course!). Friendly, helpful, good speedy service, with top people who could not do enough for you despite the madness of restrictions they face with the COVID protocols. Light hearted chats between the quick service of cold pints in proper branded clean glasses, plus a helpful wifi fix on the wee fella’s phone here and there, makes for a beautiful couple of hours people watching or meeting with the lovely mix of city locals, workers and fellow visitors who were drawn to the welcoming charm of this stunning historic corner of Duke Street. Although just being sincere to allow my wee fella to sit with his dad among the grown ups was a memory I shall cherish, I cannot wait to return when hopefully better times allow for the craic to be mighty with flowing pints and singing voices as a gang of adults. The Duke deserve the success of another 220+ years. Just save me and my boy’s ‘regular spot’ outside by the...

Today my friend and I made the heinous mistake of buying sandwiches in your establishment. I ordered what was described to me as an 'open sandwich' of tuna and cheese. From my experience, when you pay 5+ euro for a sandwich, you expect it to be of a fairly good quality. This was not the case. I am not understating in any way when I say that it was a small cold, dry, untoasted piece of supermarket bread. On this there was some cold tinned tuna (with not even mayonnaise, just tuna) and two easy cheese singles thrown on top. As disappointed as I was with mine, this was nothing compared to the travesty my friend ordered. Opting for the more expensive 'hot' cut gammon sandwich, he was given a dry cold piece of pork between an even drier slice of low quality sliced pan.

Having read some other reviews left on your site, it seems that this is not the first time you have had this compliant. I wonder why you haven't made any effort to increase the standard of the sandwiches served. In reference to your views on price yes, while M&S sandwiches are "selling for over 5 euro" M&S sandwiches are of a much higher quality. In addition to this, striving for better sandwiches than M&S wouldn't be unwise. Lower your prices or raise...
