I’ve tried quite a few restaurants around St. Stephen’s Green in Dublin city centre, but this one takes the crown for the worst. I went because of the hype online—everyone was raving about it—but turns out it’s only good for taking photos 🤳.
The interior is clearly trying to mimic The Ivy style, but that’s pretty much where the compliments end. The menu is priced like Michelin-starred dining, but the food tastes like something from a street stall—and I’m not even exaggerating. The sushi 🍣. Even the worst sushi spot in Dublin does it better. Basically a lobster bun nothing special. The bun from supermarket. Not home made. Looks like potato cubes? Surprise—it’s clumps of rice coated in an extremely sour sauce. The manager did absolutely nothing. When we complained, all we got was a shallow “sorry” with zero follow-up. And the kicker—for my birthday, they “gifted” me a plate with two bland jellies just so they could stick a candle in them. When I asked the manager if they were serious, all I got was a fake smile.
I think the boss should listening from the customers otherwise the Floritz goes out of business soon. Please stop scamming people! We paid €120 per person for this?! You can easily get a much better and filling meal elsewhere for...
Read moreWent here for an impromptu Friday night meal with my partner having had it on our list for a while. The space is a delight to be in, comfortable not sacrificed in the name of style and a soundtrack that has ‘out for the night’ vibes just right.
The welcome was excellent, and service overall continued in that vein despite the fact the vegan tasting menu I had been sent by the restaurant a few weeks prior not existing in the restaurant any longer. No allergens marked on the menu left the server the task of relaying from the kitchen what was suitable for my partner which was a little more limited than the set menu but provided enough to enjoy a good meal with.
The food was beautifully prepared and presented, the mushroom soup being an unexpected highlight along with the oysters, noodles and sea bass. A whipped tofu dipping sauce for the onion rings also a big hit. The duck was cooked perfectly but one-dimensional.
Drinks menu includes some interesting, nicely paired cocktails and wines by the glass. Didn’t check out the wine list.
Would happily go back if they address the lack of allergens on the menu and continue to offer a selection of options for multiple...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic from start to finish! Perfectly located on St.Stephens Green, the restaurant is situated in a beautiful building. We were greeted with a very warm welcome as soon as we entered, a good sign of things to come... Our waiter Luis took us through the menu and suggested some drinks to start us off, his service was brilliant for the whole evening. The decor, ambience and atmosphere were perfect, a comfortable and classy setting without being one bit pretentious. The food was some of the best I've had for a long time, small dishes for sharing and presented beautifully. The lobster bao bun was honestly top 5 most delicious things I have ever eaten and the rice chips are to die for! I cannot recommend this place highly enough, we're already planning our next visit and will be bringing...
