It was very good to visit this beautiful and building, intimately linked with the civic history of the capital of Ireland since the early 18th Century, today. The occasion being a Nature in the City panel and Q&A event brilliantly initiated by the current Lord Mayor of Dublin. The event I attended took place in the stunning surrounds of the Oak Room. Here, the oak wainscoting walls hold three major oil paintings, with the main one, in the centre of the east wall, being of the internationally renowned Irish patriot and lead of the late 19th Century Home Rule movement, Charles Stewart Parnell. On the walls are presented the coats of arms of the Lord Mayors of Dublin. A place of real Dublin and national history, which if you have the chance to visit, mustn't be missed!
