Hi...
My friend and I were looking for a place in late sunday morning to have some breakfast. We wondered in the Metro cafe and get the menu which is nice, clean and simple enough for a busy cafe. Ordered 2 espresso first which was fine(we missed the water that all around the world in cafes you gonna get with it..) and than ordered breakfast: Scrambled egg on toast with mushroom and sausage(each cost extra 1.4euro and u get only one sausage) and tom.relish, my friend eat the same only bacon inst. sausage. Where to start...it was a shocking experience: egg was dry cas its sitting on a toast which get soggy from it like some dogfood sausage one side burn(black) other side not cooked(they forgot in the pan), and the mushroom so much pepper on it that burnt my mouth. No decoration, relish just spooned on the side of the plate(no ramican or something..) like who ever cooked it not really cared what he was doing... Nice streaky bacon only positive food on the other plate....lovely service, always got a smile, good atmosphere nice busy cafe but breakfast have to improve! I am a chef, so I know what im talking about, but the thing is, even my friend was upset, who has nothing to do with the food industry and said a five years old can make the same breakfast like yours. I hope you gonna use my opinion to make your food better and not take it a wrong way.. I wrote it to...

It was bangers and mash.potatoes were good but gravey was horrible and there was so much it was nearly like soup. The sausages where nice on the inside but very hard on the outside almost like they were reheated. When my plate was collected only half the food was gone they asked if it was ok. I said (very kindly) i didnt enjoy it much. Explained why. Got not even really an apolagy yhey just said well why did you eat half i explained i hadnt ate since early morning and needed food. Went to pay and the guy at the till was aware i was standing there but continued to text . When he was ready he asked what id ordered. I told him . He said the price and i handed my card. Told him the food really wasnt woth it. He just said ok sorry. They all said thanks as i was leaving. Think they were being a bit cheeky. Wouldnt go back. Needs new management it seems. Also 14.95 for that grade of food id ridiculous. More stars would have been given if they had reacted properly.... wouldn't recommend to anybody based on service and quality of...
Read moreThis has become our absolute favorite place to eat in Dublin, and will be the first place we have a meal when we return! We had brunch once and dinner twice - as in two nights in a row! Are there fancier places? Yes. Are there cheaper places? Sure. But this place sits perfectly between those two points. The food is simple but made incredibly well, and a good value for the price. Large enough portions to fill our tummies with just enough room left over for dessert. The service level is just right, and we never had to wait too long for our meals. The owner came out to speak with us our first evening there - she was wonderful! Also, we are both GF - one Celiac and one severely gluten intolerant. We did not lack for choices on the menu, and felt we were in very good hands. If you are looking for relatively casual environment that is not too noisy, and lots of of 'Yummmmm' sighs with your meal, this...
