I got a reply to my review/ warning to others below. Attack may be the best form of defence but this attack is not fact based and full of untruths. We waited more than half an hour for a Mostly prepared Ramen. We saw people come in after us and receive their ramens. When we politely asked had we been forgotten ( we clearly had been). It was handled so badly, we waited and all we got was staff telling us everything was ok! We finally had to leave as all around us who came in after us(this place has no bookings remember) eating. Then instead of having an element of professionalism and explaining what went wrong or why this member of staff came out the door looking for payment for a beer which I didn’t even drink.Talk about petty and unprofessional!! Stay clear . Fast food service but proper restaurant prices.
My wife and I ordered lunch, it’s a limited menu and service is usually quick.we ordered Ramen, people around us who arrived and ordered after us all had received their food. After half an hour I asked the waitress if we’d been forgotten, she assured me we had not been. Still people who came in after us received their food ( mostly Ramen, same as our order) . I asked the waitresses again and her English which wasn’t good to begin with got worse, she assured me we were next. Someone else the got their food, we got up and left ironically just as our food arrived. We left anyway as it was ridiculous at this stage. A member of staff persuued us out the door looking for payment for a beer we ordered and didn’t drink as I wanted to have it with the ramen that we didn’t get. No explanation or apology for forgetting us just looking for payment for the beer. We will not be back and advise to...
Read moreJust got back from Japan, still high on ramen dreams and Shinkansen-speed nostalgia, so naturally, I craved some noodly goodness with my crew. Did some online recon, found this place hailed by local ramen whisperers, and thought—boom, mission accepted.
They don’t do bookings. That's right—no reservations. Just vibes. So I had to channel my inner ninja and show up early. Thankfully, we rolled in at 5:40pm and BAM—table secured, no queue, no jutsu.
We ordered:
Me: Chicken Ramen (aka Soul Soup)
Friend: Chicken Katsudon with rice (aka The Crispy Conundrum)
Staff? Super nice. Pretty sure the shift manager was straight from Japan—dropped some quality banter with me, which scored them +10 charisma points.
Now, the ramen... sigh. Let’s just say if you’ve been to Japan and your taste buds have seen the promised land, this broth was... not it. Bland. Soulless. Like the live-action Death Note. No seasoning. No umami. Just hot disappointment in a bowl. The chicken was decent though; solid side character energy.
Other fun facts:
One tiny lavatory. So if nature calls, you’re in for a bathroom boss battle.
Table water? Not free. Yeah, they charge €1 for H2O. What is this, Evian blessed by monks?!
Card only. No cash. No coins. No bartering with your soul. But hey, you can split the bill, so there's that.
Final verdict: If you’re craving that real Japan ramen magic, you’ll be disappointed faster than I get kicked out of sushi bars. But if you’re cool with average noodles and a solid vibe, it’s... fine.
3 outta 5 noodles. Would slurp again only under mild...
Read moreWould have given 5 stars if not the delivery. Me and my partner come to Nomo to get ramen very often, because the ramen here is so damn good! It actually tastes like authentic Japanese ramen (me and my partner both went to Japan many times), and it’s amazing that Dublin has a place like Nomo ramen. But the ramen that was delivered to us was all spilled out, the soup containers were ripped, and the ramen didn’t even taste like the ramen served at Nomo. I saw other reviews expressing concern about Nomo delivery situation, to which Nomo always replies blaming the Deliveroo drivers for ripped containers. But the driver was only delivering our Nomo order, nothing else, so the soup containers weren’t squished or anything and they still arrived in poor condition.
I really hope Nomo ramen will just accept their mistakes instead of blaming them on someone else (i.e. Deliveroo) and making excuses (i.e. the containers were squished). I recommend Nomo ramen to consult with Xian Street Food restaurant about containers for delivery. We always order soup dishes from Xian, and the containers always arrive in top notch condition with nothing spilled, no matter if they were squished or not. Me and my partner are leaving Ireland for good in a month, and Nomo ramen is one of those very few things I will actually miss about Ireland;) Wish all the good luck and growth to Nomo Ramen! (whispering And hope they’ll fix their delivery to avoid bad image because of...
