Attended O'Sheas for breakfast with 3 friends this morning. We arrived at 11.50am and ordered one Irish breakfast and three hot eggs with bacon. Tea and coffee arrived promptly but I had to return my cup as it was chipped. After approximately 15 mins 3 of the 4 breakfasts were served. No toast was brought with any of them and no cutlery. We waited for another 10 mins before retrieving the cutlery ourselves but still no forth breakfast. When we called the waitress "Chenai" to enquire where the toast and 4th breakfast were she said they had a problem with the chef and the breakfast was coming. By this stage the 2 hot eggs that had been served were cold and we asked to return them for fresh ones. Chenai was extremely rude and unapologetic. The scrambled egg was returned 5 mins later microwaved, dried up and hard. One poached egg was brought out a time later and the second poached eggs didnt arrive until 12.40pm. Luckily another member of staff with short ginger hair came to our assistance as Chenai had decided to ignore our table. She was lovely and apologetic, retrieved us fresh toast as it had gone cold waiting for the food and offered us a discount. So in conclusion it took 50 mins for poached eggs and toast and 2 slices of bacon and terrible service. Will...
Read moreStayed at O'Shea's for a long weekend whilst visiting friends in Dublin. On the Saturday morning we woke up to no water running which was a nightmare because we wanted showers and to brush our teeth etc. You expect to have water in your hotel room! Went down to reception to report the issue and were told he council turns the water off nightly (hard to believe but anyway) we were told there was a blockage when the water was turned back on but they were looking at it. An hour later the water was back on but this massively delayed our plans for the day. Coming back to our hotel room later that day someone had obviously been in to check the water at the shower had been left dripping and had left a pool of water on the floor.
Upon checking out we asked to be slightly refunded for the inconvenience caused, to be told the manager Duncan wasn't around but if we left our details he would be in touch. Two weeks later and absolutely no word from anyone at the hotel despite chasing them for a response. Between that and the loud music in the bar, I'd pay a bit more to stay somewhere else if I went again. Would...
Read moreWere in Dublin twice during our holiday., and visited here several times. We sat up by the bar and chatted with Mike the friendly bartender. We tried a lot of different beer. I loved the Fransiscan Well pale ale and McGargles ale best of all. Mike was quick to offer samples, by samples I mean littles glasses of beer for tasting. I wanted to try a cider, so he poured me several to try. They were all delicious, but I did choose. We did have the Guiness ale steak pie twice. It came with a delicious puff pastry top, root vegetables and Irish soda bread. This was scrumptious. You just needed to eat all that dark rich gravy! I also enjoyed a bowl of seafood chowder, a creamy soup filled with generous portions of a variety of seafood. Once again a thick slice of hearty bread and butter. Our only disappointment was, although there is usually live music, because it was a quieter time of year, they did not host it. So, we did not get to...
