Horrible experience at the door last night. Security wouldn’t let myself and my wife in and they didn’t give us a concrete reason. The supervisor security lady first mentioned that my wife was wearing sweatpants, which wasn’t the case - she was wearing black Calvin Klein trousers and we were both appropriately dressed. We were also with a group of friends, and they would let them in but not us. After realizing that her initial judgment re dress code was clearly wrong, the security lady then proceeded to accuse my wife of being ā€˜too drunk’, when in reality she didn’t have a single drink prior to this. Finally, after she had no more plausible arguments to stand on, security lady just said ā€œI have a right to not let you in and I don’t have to explain whyā€. It was incredibly rude and disrespectful behaviour, especially since we didn’t do anything wrong or acted in an unusual way. My wife is Egyptian, so I don’t know if there was some racial/cultural prejudice at play, but one thing is for sure is that we’re never going back there unless we get an apology from the Pygmalion team. I asked the security lady of her name, she obviously didn’t give it to me and claimed that she was the manager. At least she allowed me to take a photo of her badge (covering her name/photo of course…) so I’m attaching it here for reference - be great if you can find out who she was and query her on this incident… We ended up having a great night nonetheless and went just down the road at Izakaya Basement, where - surprise, surprise - we had no issues getting in and the music was great anyways. I’m not gonna lose sleep about the possibility of never going to Pygmalion again, there are plenty of good spots in Dublin. It’s just a very disappointing experience because I used to like this place but that was until last night. Like i said, if we get an apology, we can let bygones be bygones but I doubt that’ll actually happen… In any case, I would suggest to the Pygmalion management team to query and investigate your security staff on what is the criteria for letting people in at the door and perhaps advise them to be more respectful towards normal behaving customers. Otherwise you’re at risk of losing more clientele and getting more negative reviews/publicity.

One of the weirdest experiences I've ever had. Firstly we were looking for a place to grab a drink and a little bite l and we saw this placqe that looked like a restaurant, I thought why not go here. There was a server at the door standing in my way, so I asked her if we could get a table, thinking she was blocking out way because we need to wait to be seated. She then stares at us for a moment before I ask, can I just take that table over there. She then stares a little bit longer then says "yeah". First weird interaction making me not feel very welcome. Next, we take a seat outside because it was nice with the heater on and under cover. We then realised the website to order with wasn't working to order at the table, so we go up to the bar to order because we couldn't find any servers to help us. The bar tender was very awkward to interact with and was confusing. I asked him about ordering food and he said you have to do it at the table but I said none of the staff we're helping me. He said again, order at the table, such a weird interaction. I then got back to the table and after waiting a bit finally a server was able to assist us. We ordered one food item and it was good. It's pretty much the only reason we're giving a two star review because the drinks and food were good. Lastly the final reason this place has left a bad taste in my mouth was about 5-10 minutes after getting out food, they switched off the heaters and removed the awning! We started getting really good and uncomfortable, we left a few minutes after. Even though a couple of people complied about this happen, they didn't do anything to make it more enjoyable. It was almost like the staff wanted us to be uncomfortable and leave? I really liked the look of this place, but the way we were served it was just so uncomfortable and not an enjoyable experience. Can't recommend.

The organization and production of Pygmalion for the Halloween party was a complete scam. They sold General Admission tickets that clearly displayed ā€œPatrice BƤumelā€ at the top, but when we arrived, they informed us that only All Access ticket holders could enter the dance floor. Many people were left outside, complaining or even leaving the party because the main draw was to see Patrice BƤumel. The entrance we were directed to led us to a holding area because they supposedly didn’t yet have permission to let us into the main dance floor. There were at least 80 of us crammed into this section with only one bathroom, no music, and no ventilation. The space was packed with people—there wasn’t even room to dance. The bathroom and bar lines were endless, and at one point, two of the four speakers shut down. We all ended up leaving, and at the end, we waited over 20 minutes at the cloakroom because they couldn’t locate one of the jackets. The treatment was awful. The guards at the entrance were pushy, and even though we explained that our ticket said ā€œPatrice BƤumel,ā€ they didn’t care. Outside, the organizers were shouting at everyone over anything. Honestly, it was a disaster and a scam. I will never return to anything organized by this production, and I’m going to make their lack of service and organization very public.

After hearing great things about Pygmalion I was eager to try it out. So,Ā  yesterday myself & my boyfriend went to check it out. When we arrived there was no drinks menu on the table. No staff member approached us to take our order, (it was hard to tell who were staff members and who were not as they did not have uniforms on). After about approx 10 minutes, we finally caught the attention of a waiter who took our order, it tookĀ  10-15mins for him to come back over with our drinks. I ordered Orchard Thieves, I wasn't asked if I'd like a bottle, glass or a pint, a pint arrived.. After taking the first sip of my drink I knew it was flat, I asked my boyfriend to try it and he also agreed with me. There were no waiters to be seen on the floor again, so I went up to the bar myself. I explained to theĀ  girl behind the bar that my drink was completely flat. She put a straw in my drink took it back out licked it and said it wasn't dead handed it back to me, and then said 'she didn't work behind the bar' she worked out on the floor and for me to ' talk to someone else'. She handed it back to me butĀ  before I could say anything she was gone. The waiter who served me was now behind the bar, I got his attention and told him what the waitress had just said. The waiter then went over and spoke to the barman behind the bar who then shouted across the bar and said 'it's not flat'. I said 'yes it is' and he then proceeded to take a mouthful of my drink and said 'no it's really not' and went to hand it back to me. I insisted on getting a new drink as one staff member put a straw in my drink and licked it and the barman drank out of my glass. There were two customers standing beside me at the bar who agreed it was the flatest drink they had ever seen. So after I finally received my new drink i went back to the table and explained to my boyfriend what happened. We took a few sips of our drinks but we were so annoyed we got up and left. Our afternoon was ruined because of the way I was treated. This has to be the worst customer service I have ever received. I have worked in retailĀ  & know how customers...
