If you are black, DO NOT GO HERE. I’m deeply disappointed and disgusted by my experience at this bar. I was refused entry simply because I’m Black. The staff claimed the bar was “closed,” yet moments later allowed white patrons inside — including my white friend who was with me the entire time. He approached the door alone, pretending not to know us, and was immediately let in. When I confronted the owner about this, he tried to cover it up by saying my friend had “been here since 8pm,” which was an obvious lie, as we all arrived together.

What’s worse is that the staff — all women — stood by and allowed this blatant act of discrimination to happen. No one intervened or spoke up.

This kind of behavior is disgusting and unacceptable. No one should be treated this way based on the color of their skin. I would strongly warn anyone, especially people of color, to avoid this establishment. Racism has no place anywhere, let alone in hospitality.

The photos are the culprits because NAME AND SHAME. If you are okay supporting racism, you are okay to have your photos up so people know what...

Racists, plain and simple- so myself and my friend went for a few drinks and some food after work and were quite abruptly cut off after 2 drinks as the manager "did not like the combination of drinks" myself and my friend had been ordering (ginger beer and tequila-which apparently don't mix well?).

Realised afterwards after looking at previous reviews that it was likely the fact that my friend is a beautiful black woman. This was not addressed further by the manager, or any of the waitresses who all avoided our table afterwards until we left.

A local felt the need to say he was probably just looking out for us. Neither of us asked for a father figure to address what we were drinking nor were we in anyway affected after our 2 drinks.

Would not recommend to an enemy, let alone a friend. The ignorance is evident in the staff and their tolerance for these actions. Will not be returning and actively regret the fact I spent...

Avoid this place, I ordered a pizza and got a burnt black pizza, I didn’t realise how burnt it was until after I had eaten two slices, I looked under the pizza and the whole base was black. This place don’t know how to use cooking utensils let alone the oven. I was so shocked about how badly burnt the pizza was, I just got up and walked out the place. Woke up this morning feeling as sick as a dog, which indicates that the kitchen hygiene levels are extremely low. This is the 5th pub/ restaurant I’ve been in to in Dublin this week that can’t cook a meal. Quite clearly cooking isn’t a skill the Irish have learned. I can’t wait to return home. Nice city, but terrible food!!!!!! Still can’t believe I paid 17.50 for a burnt pizza. They should be ashamed of themselves and start looking for new kitchen staff...

On our last day in Dublin we had to choose from one of a thousand pubs. So naturally, I wanted one homely and as family run as possible but not being in the general tourist vicinity. God what a damn good choice. It was good vibes all around, our gentleman keeper, never got his name (unfortunately! But if you know him that send him my regards. he wore a white dress shirt this night), promptly got us drinks and was always attentive. The food was top notch and the Guinness is poured perfectly. I bought a shirt. (Wanted an XL because I wanted to wear it anytime but I'll settle for the L) Food: traditional food means good stuff. Stew was amazing but if you need your F&C, go for it. All of it was top. Get in, get a seat, because everyone else will want to before you do.

The Boar's Head in Dublin is an absolute gem! The staff are not just friendly but go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The atmosphere is vibrant, striking the perfect balance between lively and cozy. The reasonably priced drinks are a pleasant surprise in a city where pints can sometimes break the bank. What truly sets The Boar's Head apart is the unbeatable 'craic.' It's not just a pub; it's an experience. Whether you're enjoying a casual chat with locals or immersing yourself in the lively banter, there's a sense of camaraderie that makes this place special. If you're looking for a genuine Irish pub experience with great people, great vibes, and reasonably priced drinks, The Boar's Head is a must-visit in Dublin!
