Had a lovely brunch here this morning. The portion size was just right, and even though the staff were clearly busy, they were attentive and welcoming as soon as I arrived. I brought my dog and sat outside beneath a beautiful tree which is a perfect, peaceful setting. I had the eggs with bacon and sausages, served with delicious brown bread. The waitress kindly brought out a fresh bowl of water for my dog, which was a thoughtful touch. I’ve also stopped by a few times for coffee and cake, which have always been great. I saw a review mentioning the vegetable soup, personally, I enjoyed it the time I had it. It’s a light, healthy option, though it might not suit everyone’s taste. It can get busy, but there’s usually plenty of space, and the best part is being able to stroll straight out the back into the Iveagh Gardens.

One of the worst food i had in my life. I like vegetarian soups 🍲 a lot and have tried soup of the day at many restaurants and cafes. The soup of the day was tasteless and pathetic here. It was as if they just put boiled vegetables in hot water without any seasoning. Never had so blend and tasteless food in Dublin before. Ambience was good that is true. But staff was not great. I was sitting outside and a spider 🕷 fell in my soup 🍲. A general courtesy is staff will ask should we replace it. I did not wanted to eat or wanted any replacement as soup was tasteless but staff did not even said anything about spider felling in soup and not even offered to replace it. Staff needs training and also they should keep outside garden seating more clean and should do a pest control.

On August 11th, I had an unpleasant situation. My friend and I went in for lunch and sat at one of the last 3-4 tables outside. Shortly after, the waitress came and she told us that we had to go inside to be seated, because sometimes customers are standing in line for a table. I said that we didn’t know and apologized. To which the waitress replied that this was not my first time here and should have known.

This statement was completely disturbing as neither I need to memorize how operations work in your coffee shop nor I felt secured someone tracking my earlier visits.

On my last visit, I first saw this waiter when I went inside to see what desserts were available and to place an order, to which she rather rudely told me that I needed to sit at a table first. So on this visit, we immediately sat at a table. It sounds like your place either lacks proper training or staff is treating based on their mood. I also observed that this waitress did not approach other customers the same way which made us feel further down.

Previously, I visited this cafe years back, there were no waiters, and everyone just sat outside.

Regardless, this is nowhere near how a service should be provided in this industry. Then my friend and I paid the bill, said thank you, goodbye, to which the waitress remained silent, tried not to look at us, looked unhappy. At that moment an elderly woman came up and asked her a question about the payment, she also answered unkindly. We left a little shocked and realized everything after we had previously been in a good mood, but after that it was spoiled. I have never encountered such service in this cafe, I always liked this place and the staff. As in principle, it is unusual to see such service in Ireland after many years of living here. I very often visit different coffee shops and restaurants in the city and this is the first time I encountered such low...

Unfortunately the food while fine was overshadowed by the extremely poor service. The waitress who I felt sorry for being understaffed was also disinterested and left us 10 mins at the door awaiting to be seated. We were then 30 mins seated before we managed to get a cup of tea to the table. We had ordered soup and kid’s sandwiches and this took 38 mins from time of ordering until we were served. I know because when I said we are waiting a while the manager came back with the docket and told me the time of the order. the biscuit sent to the table after the first 30 mins wait didn’t appease the kids for such a long wait. I understand covid can mean staffing issues and I did state that it would have been better to tell us on arrival. We spent a full hour from arrival to getting soup served in what is meant to be a cafe for a quick easy bite. Other tables all having the same problem. Completely disaster. Food was fine although the corner slice of brown bread given with the soup seemed mean. Hopefully this cafe can pull itself out of the hole it is in and become a great...
