I really wanted to like this place but the food was mediocre at best and the whiskey pours were not only minuscule but delivered with a bad attitude. We were charged $25 Euro for each shot of Red Spot Irish whiskey. I realize it is a very good whiskey but we literally got a pour that barely covered the bottom of the glass. I was lectured that this was a “standard” pour. If so then it should no way be 25 Euro. You can buy an entire bottle for 100 euro and we literally got 4 “shots” that combined didn’t equal 1 ounce.

When asked about the pour the response was ex’s rly what you don’t want to do with customer service. There are plenty of better places in Galway to spend your money and get good value and quality service.

In response to the owner. I appreciate your feedback but I stand by my honest review. The comparison was meant only to emphasize that charging 25 Euro for a .35ml pour is not good value at all and is in fact gouging the customer.

And to be clear it was not just the price. The fish and chips lacked taste as did the steak sandwich. I’ve been to Galway three times and what makes it great are how friendly and accommodating the people are. . Unfortunately this was an exception...

We stopped in for a quick meal before catching our train, and while our server was clearly busy, her attitude was off-putting. I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately, the service wasn’t the only issue. The food didn’t come out as expected either. She first told us that the burger could only be cooked well-done which would take about 20 minutes. (The only thing on the menu that could be cooked to temp was the sirloin) We agreed to wait, but when the food arrived in less than five minutes, it was clear something was off. The burger was dry and seemed pre-cooked, then just reheated. The chicken on the Caesar salad wasn’t overly dry, but it also felt like it had been pre-cooked. And the bacon? It wasn’t even remotely crispy—just thrown on without much care. Overall, it felt like they really didn’t put any...

Lovely bar, lovely staff all except for the two bouncers on the door. Rude as soon as we arrived in the door even to my parents. Saw them outside then during the night blatantly trying to start a fight with some young lads instead of defusing a situation. Landed a kick in to the chest of what looked to be a small enough 18 year old as we were trying to walk out the door to leave, mostly because he wouldn’t stop walking up and standing right beside our table and asking for my ID 3 or 4 times (I’m 25). For any managers reading this he was mid 30s with a black beard greying on the bottom and some max attention issues obviously, not the type of man you want to be greeting customers coming in to the bar. Apart from that the bar staff were amazing and the drinks and food was great too. Fire that...

We went there for a late night dinner and to experience a true Irish pub. The service was very fast, there was a lot of free tables inside even though it was a Sunday night. The live music was very nice, even though it may sound a bit loud if you are not used to this (as a tourist). Unfortunately the food was not on par with the rest, I took the fish pie and it was, well, eatable but very bland. The quantity were more than correct though. I think it's better to come for a drink only. Good experience, but the food quality could be better.

I would’ve never thought one of the best culinary experiences of my life would be at Murty Rabbit’s. The beef pie was nothing short of scrumptious and delectable. Coupled with a pint of guiness I have experienced flavours, I didn’t know were humanly possible. Despite this, the cherry on top was the chocolate cake. If you visit Galway make sure not to miss this gem, as it offers something extraordinary that other restaurants simply lack.
