Not great. Waited 20 mins for a table which is fine and understandable. Read the menu for those 20 minutes and then when we sat down we waited another 20 minutes to order. We already knew what we wanted before we were seated, should have just taken order straight away.

When food finally came is was way below standard. My husband ordered the steak sandwich rare and what came out was a child size steak served well done. It was sent back and gratefully replaced with what should have been served in the first place.

We also had the curry and fish and chips. Mushy peas were dry and the curry very very spicy.

I went to the bathroom then to change my child nappy only to find the ladies were filthy dirty. Obviously not checked or cleaned in hours.

I checked with a restroom about changing facilities and was told they had a sofa down stairs I could use.

Restaurant is also very cold!

Overall would not...

Place seemed cozy and nice at first glance (according to previous high reviews as well). Staff was very unresponsive though, didn't greet us when we walked in so we just chose a seat ourselves. It took a while and a couple glances before the staff even approached us (and even cleaned the table next to us, still ignoring us). Upon ordering they were friendly though and helped choosing drinks for us (because sadly there is no proper drink menu to read).

The food was disappointingly bland. Ordered the steak sandwich and the chicken pasta. It arrived very fast, but the taste was pretty non-existent sadly. Had to sacrifice quite a couple little salt and pepper packets. Both the pasta and the chicken tasted like nothing but milk (how do you even do that?!) and the steak was bland and chewy.

It did look good at first glance, but it turned out to be a disappointment.

Too bad, would not...

I used to eat here quiet regularly. I ordered the chicken wings and some of the portion seemed fresh and some not so fresh, it seemed as if they were cooked early in the day and smothered in the BBQ sauce to hide the fact that they were old. I just thought this was a once off and said it to the bar man. I was in there again during the week and ordered the lasagna and the same thing as the chicken wings, it wasn't fresh. The bowl that the lasagna came in was filthy, it obviously exploded in the microwave and they didn't think to wipe the sauce off the bowl. The taste of the lasagna wasnt fresh also, it seemed it was made in the morning and left all day. I am very unsatisfied with the bar as I used to go there often but its safe to say, I wont be returning...

Looking for dinner before the kitchen closes is tricky. Luckily I made it in time to order and the waitress was very helpful making sure I placed my order in time. I noticed two additional customers coming in behind me in the same situation getting similar good service. The soup of the day was satisfying after touring all day in the wind and rain. Ordered a take away sandwich and it also hit the spot.

Had the full Irish Breakfast at The Cellar bar, what a feast. Just under €9. 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 eggs, beans, black and white pudding. 2 slices of toast and a cup of coffee. Cooked to order so it was piping hot when the plate hit the table. Seating inside. Staff are pleasant and polite and will engage in conversation. If this review was informative enough for you give it a thumbs up for others.

Stopped in for dinner. Got the wings as a meal with chips. Did the buffalo sauce. Excellent wings and sauce. My wife got the chicken and broccoli pasta which was awesome too. They have a great drink menus with traditional mixed drinks as well as their own spin on traditional drinks. If you are in the area, make t The Cellar a food and drink stop!
